Most of the CBA-rage I've encountered on blogs and comment sections and so on has been weird like that. The response leads me to imagine a crowd of angry tweens being told that the Justin Bieber concert has been postponed. And the parents are angry too, because now they have to explain to their kids what "rehab" means, and why their favorite singer has to go there.
They can just go get bent. At least they can say that when all is said and done, they know where their team will be playing the year after next.

Speaking of all that rage, I'm sick and tired of all the rage being used to talk about boycotting and protesting the NHL over something that has yet to happen this season, a lockout. The General Section is more annoying than ever before with this kind of crap talk seeing that so many have not botherned to learn from history that this kind of talk was used during the last lockout and the league came back stronger than it ever was before.
Really shouldn't come as a surprise negotiations are going to come down to the wire. That's just the normal course of negotiations when both sides come under the most pressure to offer concessions and get a deal done.
After seven straight seasons of record revenue, it’s clear that if the NHL has a problem, it is not a revenue issue, but rather a revenue disparity issue. The owners’ revenue sharing proposal does increase revenue sharing somewhat, but every dollar of revenue sharing is paid for by player salary reductions; the higher income clubs contribute nothing on their own.
The Players’ propose that they partner with the high-income teams to provide targeted funding for the distressed teams and owners. But the players won’t and shouldn’t have to do this alone. The higher income teams need to share far more with the lower revenue teams. The Players will do their part; will the owners?

Those clubs are responsible both for generating the bulk of the league's revenue, and for inflating the cost of labor. It's like they're trying to drive the other clubs, ostensibly their partners, out of business. It would be funny if it wasn't so stupid. No wonder finding new investors is so hard.
