Oops, I completely forgot about this. Moen is a top 9 player and I actually have a need for a 5-6 D. Would you have any players available you could include?

Yeah, that's why I left it and just mentioned how it'd be nice. He's one of their best prospects. I still want Girardi, though. I'd really like a D prospect if I moved Moen, I'm a bit thin. I plan on promoting and moving one of my top 2.

Do you guys have some info about the in game versions of prospects that I'm not aware of? How can you judge what these guys are worth in-game? I'm not saying you should stop or anything, I just don't get it.

Google. And look on other teams forums for prospect lists.

Not sure of a place it's listed. But how you mainly judge a players worth is their initial rating... A,b,c... Etc etc and their growth rating. Also a,b,c, etc etc.

So in other worthy a C rated Player with an A growth rating is worth more than a B rated player with a D growth rating. Because the B player is past peak/prime. And the C rated is pre-peak/prime with high expectations. And will at least match the B rated player or possibly surpass.

Hope that helps.

I get the ratings. My question is can you actually find those ratings for the prospects in the game already? Or are people just basing it on what they know about them in real life? EA has never seemed all that accurate with prospect ratings. I would have a very hard time predicting what they give any of the prospects on my team.

In the games player potential is the most important thing. I traded Tyler ennis and some crap winger for Sidney Crosby. Actual trade value doesn't transfer over into games as much as player potential.

Right, I get how the game works. I didn't mean to sound like I don't. That's not what I'm asking about.

My question is, do you actually know what rating or potential the guys you are trying to trade actually have in the game? If so, I would love to know them for my guys as well. All I can find are the NHL rosters but nothing on the minor league guys. I have a feeling some of the ratings will be significantly different in game than real life sites like HF rate these guys.

I honestly couldn't say I do. I check capgeek and go to non roster and Google. As far as ratings they are all out of wack.

That's what I figured. So back to my original point then. It seems like quite a gamble to make trades involving guys like McIlrath when neither side of the trade actually knows how good he is in the game. Really no point other than that and no reason at all for you to care what I think I'm just rambling.

I guess it's more-so for potential than anything else; that and it's less worrisome to groom a videogame character than a live one.

Yeah I never played around with prospects in games before so I wasn't really aware of his pedigree Haha. But it's no problem you probably just saved me from making a stupid move! Sorry tangbanged!the other prospect is still on the table

Ogre i have the same questions as you. and i find i can't articulate the problem any better than you have either. we have no way of knowing what ABC combination EA Sports has concocted for each prospect until we have the game in our grubby little hands. therefore, trading prospects without knowing their "in game" value seems absurd.

good I'm not alone. I just know in past games, I've had guys like Kyle Turris and Jack Skille turn into better players than the likes of James Neal and Jamie Benn within a few seasons.

Someone else can have Phoenix if they want. I'm still getting the game, but just not gonna have the time to partake in this sadly.
