Begin? I'd rather have Ribs on the top line. Sure he's not the most popular guy on the team..or most talented, but he plays more of a similar style to Koivu than Begin does, one would think.

Then put what, Begin with Kovalev on the second line?
Begin and Higgins showed good chemistry during the regular season. Higgins is just a good versatile player. He can play on any line, with any center. The key is to get Ryder to mesh with Begin and Higgins off the cycle. They'll be able to dig the puck out of the corner. If Ryder gets dirty in front of the net, he'll get his chances when they throw it at the net.

No....Begin is a gritty guy that works in the corners....like Koivu!! I think I would put Begin between Ryder and Higgins....what can it hurt??
Begin IMHO is the heart and soul of this team since Koivu left.. Maybe him being on the first line will enspire the team to play a great game!! IMHO great move by Gainey!
Some questions were meant to be asked but not answered. My theory is that, according to quantum mechanics, even though he does not have the necessary skill to be a top 6 winger, he has a non-zero probability of "tunneling" into a that position.
