Good trade?

Second year dynasty keeper league.

I get

Mike Richards
3rd overall

He gets

1st overall

I also own the 6th and 8th overall picks.

Well, who are you planning on taking 3rd?

That's great value then IMO. Personally, I would take the deal.

Who would you rather have on your team, Setoguchi or MacArthur in a dynasty pool?

More info is needed for us to determine if it's a good trade or not. Would Richards be a keeper ony our team? How many teams are there in the league? How many players do you keep? WHat kind of stat system?

If Richards wouldnt be a keeper for you next year, I probably wouldn't do that deal. If he's big upgrade over the forward you would not keep because of him, I say it's a good deal.

16 teams. Option is you can keep as many players as you want but each saved player is a loss of a draft pick (since I have 6 picks in the top 2 rounds I released 6 players) I will be keeping Richards. It's H2H standard stats 26 player roster.

I'd take Setogutchi if he plays on the same line as Parise.

According to Mike Yeo he's starting the season with Cullen and Granlund.

That hasn't been identified yet. However, he definitely has a lot more competition for the top 6. Lots of leafs fans see him as the odd-man out to play on 3rd line. Best case scenario, he plays on a line with Grabovski and Kulemin.

Thing with lines is if Minny strugges, Seto may play with the likes of Parise or Koivu. But who knows?

I think at this point, I slightly prefer Setoguchi as I see him as more of an offensive threat, whereas I see MacArthur more as a 2 way player.

This is a deal that I would struggle on looking at a reason to decline. I guess it comes down to how good is my team, can I contend? And how good I think Yakupov can be?

Personally though I take the deal regardless of the unknown circumstances, but because with what is presented it looks like a can't miss deal. Mike Richards in all likely hood will be better than Yakupov in the fantasy game for the first year of Yakupov's career, and probably the next. Tarasenko's rookie season should be on par with Yakupov's.

Deal looks great for you. At the number 3 option I like Tarasenko, but if Yakupov falls to you, which I doubt very much, he's a the obvious pick.

Without a doubt. I traded for the first overall with the intent of picking up Yakupov.
