Duchene seems like a good fit for the Rangers since our center depth isnt the best. What would the Avs ask for from us? If the whole immaturity thing is true, I would think a healthy dose of Torts would be good for him

I'm neutral here, but what makes Hall more valuable than Duchene?

He's certainly not more proven. They have similar pedigrees. The two have similar sort of ceilings--but Duchene gets a positional advantage at center. Duchene struggled with injuries one year; Hall both of his seasons. Duchene's a whopping 10 months older.

Obviously a deal would never happen, but I don't think it is a stretch to suggest that Duchene holds a bit more value at present. I certainly don't see how it is a given that he does.

As to the OP, I'd gather that if Colorado did decide to move Duchene, they would target either 1) a slightly older star caliber player at a position of need (Bobby Ryan?), or 2) a young, similarly developed LH defenseman to pair with Johnson for the next decade (OEL?) Not sure that either of those would actually work--and both have been suggested in the past--but that seems about the "value of" Matt Duchene.

Yeah Duchene is immature but that doesn't make us want to trade him. He's only 21! A lot of 21 year olds are immature. Plus it's not like he is a lockerroom cancer with his immaturity. Instead it seems that almost everyone on our team loves him.
