EDIT: Nevermind. Now that I really look at it I think it's Craig Billington, and this is most likely from a pre-season game. Still, Craig Billington never wore 29 in a regular season game. That's noteworthy, right?
He actually played two seasons. Traded at the 2000 deadline and the avs lost in the semis to Dallas. He was seriously considering calling it a career but the avs twisted his arm for one more year. The circumstances behind the jersey retirement is unique and like nothing else in sports that I can recall. The greatest defenseman of his era finally lifting the cup after 22 years. How could they not retire it is the real question.
I don't want to take this thread off-topic, so I'll just say I'm willing to bet at least 90% of hockey fans would disagree with you.
