Do the Sharks have what it takes
Do the Sharks have what it takes to win the Stanley Cup? Yes, why? No, What do you think they are missing?

No, I think this has been discussed to death in other threads. No forward depth, lack of speedy forwards, etc...
I honestly, at this moment, don't have any hope of winning the cup this season.

At this time we are anywhere from a 4th to 10th seed out west.
We appear to be a team on decline and have not corrected the problems hockeyball has noted.

Yes. I feel an 8-peat, minimum, on the horizon.

Yeah. I'm feeling they'll go on a Montreal Dynasty era run. Easily.

If and when this season starts, of course they have a chance. All teams have a chance. Its the ones that stay healthy, get on a roll at the right time and dont get bounced out by stupid stanchions that win.
The Sharks just got two new defense oriented coachs, the PK will be better then the previous sludge of two years. They could really use a new 3rd line center but no team is perfect, the grass is not greener.

It's not looking too good for this club.
Though I'd rather cheer for an underdog team rather than an underperforming one if I had the choice.

If they do win a cup while DW is GM I hope to see you there in the celebration thread giving the highest of digital fives to him.

No way, I would bet everything I have on the Sharks not winning a cup within the next few seasons. They're on the decline and will need to rebuild soon.

This is the prep talk Joe gave Patty to convince him to fight Bieksa.

I don't think they have "what it takes"...I think of it like this, if the sharks win the cup who would be the guy to win the conn smythe?
I don't really see Thornton and Marleau as that guy. They have good playoff runs but not really dominant ppg playoffs.
As random as this may sound I think the only chance the sharks have to a cup is if Logan Couture takes a HUGE step forward this season and becomes a 40 goal scorer and ppg player.
