Horrible for NJ.

Henrique and Larsson are their future. They can't afford to give up either of them unless the other team is overpaying big time. I think the value of this trade is about fair, but that's not nearly enough for Devils fans to want to see Henrique moved.

You're spelling Yakupov correctly. More seriously this comment is spot on.

thats great, you guys don't have to buy into the Henrique hype if you don't want to, we'll gladly keep him.

if people actually watched him play, they would understand why most people believe he is going to be a special player.

Anyone who doesn't think he's great obviously didn't watch much of the playoffs.

Henrique created offense for everyone he played with, not just with Kovy and #9. im on record stating that Poni and Clarkson could've had a fantastic playoff if they finished a couple of their golden chances that Henrique provided. in saying that however, im not sure he can replicate his play next year when offences start to key in on him consistently.

There's a difference between "I'd like to have Adam on my team" and "I'm willing to meet your offer to acquire him on my team"

If that difference exists, Henrique will never be on "your team".

If PRV actually continued to get better last year instead of hitting a sophmore slump then maybe this trade makes more sense.

Teubert has very little value so not much point in throwing him in.

why should the Devils trade a very good, young 2 way center for anything more than an overpayment?

I'm not sold on Henrique either but this proposal is still premised on quantity for quality. NJ hangs up and doesn't even counter

Another reason to think against this is, if we do this, and Zajac doesn't resign, that leaves us with Sam Gagner as our #1 center...

Why do people think Henrique was along for the ride? He was the offensive catalyst for that line. Lots of active stick work in the neutral zone causing turnovers. A lot of his production was in transition where he simply outskated the other team. Not only that, he produced on every line that he played on. He was the spark plug on the top line.

He plays a game similar to Parise, but is further along in his development that Zach was at the same age.

They shouldn't. That wasn't the point of my comment.

I'm fine with that.

This was the original quote:

I'm saying yes, you're right. Those two users (Oilers and Habs fans, respectively) would be pleased as punch to have Henrique on their teams. Just like there are 30 teams in the league that would be happy to have Henrique on their team. He's a promising young player who is coming off a good rookie season.

I'm also saying, there's a difference between "pleased to magically have Henrique just appear on their team" and "willing to pony up the assets required to get him from the Devils". Because there's a difference between like to have him and need to have him.

I fully understand that the Devils recently had their Captain and one of their most important players just walk out the door. I know that Henrique has more value to the Devils now then he would have had if Parise has resigned, because he's going to be expected to fill some of that void.

Quite frankly, the Devils need to keep Henrique. 29 other teams probably fall more into the like to have Henrique category.

The stats show that he was great too though. Other than his horrid PP points/60 rate, his advanced stats are sparkling. He played the 5th toughest competition on the team while getting the lowest O-zone% start on the team other than Ponikarovsky (who wasn't on the team all year). Despite that, he managed to be a slight positive in corsi. It is very impressive for a rookie to be put in that situation to begin with, let alone succeed under those conditions. And his penalty killing was nothing short of spectacular.

EDIT: All of those stats are for forwards.

He isn't a flash in the pan. Everyone's numbers will take a hit with Parise gone, but I do expect Henrique to improve in the future and become a star in his own right. Watch him play and you'll agree that he is a dynamic player.

The teams are fine trading partners. The Oilers could use an upgrade on defence, the Devils have extra defencemen. The Oilers have extra forwards, the Devils could use a top 6 RW. The trouble is that people are making ludicrous proposals between the teams, instead of the ones that make sense.

Please stop with the NHL 12 trades, just because your console said it was a good trade doesn't actually make it a good trade.

HOLY **** like what were you on when you made this proposal were you expecting even one positive answer.....As a spits fan I love Henrique but Edmonton wouldnt touch this with a hundred foot pole, I mean Henny in an Oil Jersey would be great but this is stupid lopsided and this thread should definetly be closed you obviously couldn't have been serious when you put this up...

I'm an Oiler fan but I'd do it. You always have to overpay to upgrade your top6

I know it seems like an overpay valuewise from the Oilers (i think Paajarvi's potential is being vastly underrated in this thread) but i would do this deal, i'm sure most Oiler fans wouldn't.
I don't think that Henrique was a fluke at all, he just has the knack to be in the right place all the time and the puck just seems to follow him. It goes beyond stats and the quality of linemates argument, he's the real deal IMO.
This would be a mighty tasty top 6.....

Hall-Henrique-Eberle
Hemsky-RNH-Yakupov

or

Hall-RNH-Eberle
Hemsky-Henrique-Yakupov

With that being said, i don't see the Devils doing this deal. Henrique has become one of their core players especially with Parise now departed.
