Agreed. I really hope there's no delay or anything.

I can't take this no hockey stuff again. It was bad enough 7 years ago. I almost lost my mind.

More seats going in.

I wonder where Sam and Joe are going to be located?

I have been wondering the same thing. The area above the middle section at the top is the only place that seems to work and maintain the same viewing angle as before.

The upper bowl, 5th section from the left, first row.

There seems to be no first couple of rows of seats in the photo or in 3D renderings.

I would take a guess that will be where the TV crews, cameras, and commentators will be.

There is also an entrace way specifically for that area.

Good call.

This is what that area looks like based on the interactive seating chart

That area is supposed to be for handicap seating. It's on both the north and south ends of the arena.

Hard to see on this but both of those sections are marked WC.

Hrmm, I don't think so. Looks more like a press area if anything. Look at these photos below from the seating chart.

This area is dead center, and comes out further than the other areas like it. Seems like this would make the most sense for the broadcast crew/cameras....who knows.

Interesting, maybe wheelchair and broadcast? Hard to imagine the cameras being so low and in view of everyone, AND have Sam and Joe open to the crowd as well...

The camera's and broadcast are in front of 224, as shown in the above picture.

As long as the camera is near the same place. I liked where it was compared to most other arenas. It was centered on the redline, if you thought that was a given look at games at Nassau C. the camera is on the left blue line. Secondly, I liked how the camera was almost seemingly a birds eye view, fans standing was never a problem and you got a better look at the near boards.

I agree, I've always prefered the higher and wider view of the ice.

Unfortunately the cameras are going to be significantly closer to the ice. They do appear to be centered, however.

The one thing that always bothered me during broadcasts were the metal railings visible in the near corners. A higher camera angle would resolve that.

idk how to put pictures on here, but they are starting to remove that scaffolding used for the ceiling, and now you can see what the top of the upper bowl looks like, on the left side. It looks sick, you can see how there will be concessions up there. If you make sure camera date is from thursday 6th, you can see.

Yup I'll be there for that and WWE in December so at least I'll get to check the place out if there's a lockout.

Those were the pics I took. They're also building a new subway entrance right in front of the arena that leaves you steps from the entrance.

The only argument that people and Ranger fans like yourself will have is that MSG is so much better because of it's history and blah blah. Yeah, it's also in the heart of Manhattan. Ok.

Here is the whole set: http://www.netsdaily.com/2012/9/4/32...nter#storyjump

I cannot wait to step foot inside.

That exterior material is called weathering steel, it's made to look industrial but that crap actually drips rust when it rains and stains the ground and walls bright orange. Should look really swell after the winter is done with it

MSG is going to look way better than Barclay's, once it's complete.

Is the Barclay's Center going to be used for hockey too? I haven't kept up on it at all.

MSG's exterior isn't going to change, so on that part it will still look the same shade of turd from the 70's on the outside

They built the place with a small floor for Basketball but somewhere in the construction process someone finally had the bight idea that they could make money from ice surface events too so their solution was to make the seats in one end removable to fit an NHL size rink. That leaves a lot of obstructed view seats, so the official capacity for hockey / ice capades / whatever is 14,500. That's smaller than the NHL will officially allow for a new arena but the arena owner is pushing hard for the Isles to move in
