Its that I don't like Vlas, but I'm not going to let that change the fact that he, and most of the team deserve to be criticized for not getting the job done, especially since they have the ability, but simply don't put the effort in. Vlasic has been a + player over the past 3 years in the PO's and + 46 over the past 3 regular seasons with little offensive contribution. Bottom line: the statistics say he gets the job done. IMO you are irrationally blaming a player who is not the problem for a team failure.

Maybe if you hadn't put on those rose colored glasses on in the first place you wouldn't be so disheartened by the realities of pro hockey.

I've been a season ticket longer than you and while I share in the disappointment that the Sharks haven't reached the land of nirvana, I'm also aware that great teams lose, so so teams win and everything in between.

The reality is we've been pretty lucky with the Sharks in the land of middle market teams. It sounds to me like you blame the Sharks woes on teams full of players that get too used to living in the land of sunshine and don't give it their all when it counts. Sounds like a BS cop out to me to allow to get away without justifying your opinion.

Again, it would have been irrational if I had not given any reasons. That being said, Vlasic is just another version of Scott Hannan. I'd much rather have a defenseman that could do the same thing as Vlasic and maybe bring a mean streak too. Getting back to the original topic, Under-rated? I'd say no.

Anyone can try and spin words and "poison the well" all they want, but it is well known that the Sharks have disappointed year after year. So the players should be accountable and be called out. Anything else would be irrational.

Because it couldn't be the coaches, the gm (team makeup), injuries, etc? It could ONLY be the players. And since it is CLEARLY the players then obviously Vlasic is part of the problem. Damn him for his impeccable defensive abilities and quietly doing his job to perfection with a level of consistency almost no other Shark can match.

Get rid of him already!
