Was there a time that Gonchar was a better PP QB than Lidstrom?

And I mean slight, not by a lot but Gonchar in his Capital days and even bit as a Pen very well could have been the best PP QB in the league at that time. He was on a whole other level from the rest of the league IMO.

I dunno - Gonchar throughout his career has spent a lot more minutes on the PP than Lidstrom, and maybe a few seasons has had more PP points, but I have not seen a better PP quarterback than Lidstrom since Bourque or MacInnis... And Lidstrom is up there with them. Gonchar is a step down, IMO.

He was clearly missed when he was out for most of the year in 2009. The Pens just couldn't get their powerplay together during that time frame. I don't know, from just solely a PP quarterback there is certainly a time when Gonchar was on par with Lidstrom. Or at least it wasn't an outlandish comment to make. Now of course, overall Lidstrom takes him to the cleaners, but we aren't talking about that here.
