Regin was in the picture.

Turris is in Ottawa.
Lehner tweeted he was flying to Ottawa.

I really hope Regin can stay in one piece this year.

The lockout should help with that

The reports I read indicated that although his most recent injury was in the shoulder area, Regin did not injure the same part that he did prior to last year.
This is it for him, make or break. If he stays healthy I think this team is in the upper half of the eastern conference in terms of forwards.

That's what everyone has seems to have forgotten/ignored, that he didn't suffer 2 injuries to the same spot. I don't think he's brittle as some people think. That being said it certainly is make or break. If he stays healthy he really does shore up our forward depth.

If there's a season...

I can't remember a training camp I've been looking forward to this much in recent memory. And it may not even happen.

Well as encouraging as that is...it's still a pretty small joint that is notoriously easy to injure and equally hard to heal properly.

Once you have a bad shoulder, it is usually for life.

I wish Regin the best. If he can give us top 6-9 production, we are obviously that much better for it.

If we can roll out 3 lines that can score consistently, then I agree, we do have a pretty good offensive team with significantly more depth than teams that you could argue are better.

We don't have a Stamkos, Crosby or Malkin, but Spezza is not far behind that group, especially if he has wingers that can finish.

The more options we have, the harder we are to shut down offensively.

That's about as fair an assessment as anyone has said about him, not calling him injury prone or saying he just had a streak of bad luck. All we can do is hope for the best. When he was on his game he was impressive and his linemates always benefited.

Now someone please kick Fehr and Bettman up the backside. They should just get wrecked on whiskey together, exchange a few "I love you man"s, and write up a new CBA on a cocktail napkin.

Sure, it would ruin the future of the league, but we'd get HOCKEY!!!

I remember reading somewhere, right after Regin got his latest surgery, that the doctors took extra steps in the procedure to try to make sure he wouldn't re-injure the shoulder again. He`s spent the last number of months recovering from this surgery, but once he`s fully recovered I`m pretty hopeful that his shoulder will hold up.

Should he be driving with all those concussion issues?

My rage at both sides for not being able to fix things before a lockout is declared grows every day. How many people and especially businesses will be negatively affected by their ineptitude? How does a major league not negotiate long before their CBA expires? It's all so ridiculous that we very well might lose another entire season based on stubbornness and greed. It doesn't even seem as if they are trying at this point and I wonder what exactly they are waiting for.

Seriously though, would losing a season or even just half a season not impact the players financially more than whatever little gain they'll get from sitting out?

How many years will it take to recoup the salary that they'll lose by sitting out?

I guess that's why Bettman feels pretty good about everything, knowing that it is the players who stand to lose the most by being locked out.

It's not like the owners will be making any money either.

It's annoying me as well,

Why don't think they think of it from a fan perspective?

If I'm honest, I can imagine a large portion of non-American/Canadian fans losing interest in the sport if there's a lockout... What benefit does that bring?

It's crazy, why don't they just think of the PEOPLE!
