Franon's not a shutdown defender, that's why Komi was in the line up over him.
The offensive dmen that kept Franson down on our depth chart are Phaneuf, Liles and Gardiner. Franson's not slow either, quite the opposite in fact. It's pretty obvious you're reaching a little to hard about a team and specifically a player you know very little about.
Myers is a very good skater for a player his size ...Franson is average at best.
He's slow reading plays, obviously more so defensively as that's always been his achilles heel. Doesn't mean he's a slow skater however, I'd say he's above average on his skates, especially for a player his size.
No they dont lol Sheahans probably already better than Steckel, no need to include them at all in this deal.
Franson for a second might happen but I wouldnt be so sure, he cant crack Torontos terrible blue line. And before I hear some garbage about he doesnt play the right style, when youre bottom 5 defensively in the league, your style doesnt matter.. You should be able to outplay someone for a rsoter spot
This whole thread and argument over Sheahen is a moot point anyways, since it would make very little sense for the Leafs. Right now with Schenn gone you're going to have one of Franson, Holzer, or a young guy like Blacker in the lineup full time and we can't afford to trade any of what little depth we have unless we get a defenseman back to replace him.
This won't happen with the Wings because they are looking for more D-men as well. Both organizations have too many bottom six forwards and not enough D, so this automatically makes us horrible trade partners.
