Pronger is apparently going to be at Training Camp taking some physical tests

yup. LTIR proceedure, you just cant put a player on LTIR. you have to prove hes physically unable to play. the testing will show what everyone knows already.
Supposing that Kimmo wishes to play one or more seasons on one year contracts with NMCs: How much would you give Kimmo after this contract expires, to play one more year?
I would be okay with 4m. NMC. If, and only if, he is still playing around a 1b, 2a/b pairing level.
As good as he is and as much as he has meant to the organization, I am not sure he gets another multi year deal from the Flyers after this season. I would be ok giving Kimmo a NMC on a one year deal. We gave Fedotendo one for God sakes.
If the 35+ rule is gone I would give Kimmo whatever years he wanted without an NMC. Two years with NTC at 4.5 million sounds fair to me.
Why would Kimmo ever agree to that? If he is not playing in the NHL I would think he would like to be back home. The Flyers wouldn't even disrespect him that way either I think, they would offer him a NMC/NTC probably pretty early in discussions. My opinion is he get a deal right around 5 million(give or take either way) per year until he retires. That is of course if he wants to resign here after his contract expires.
I love the way it seems like other fan bases are under valuing Couts now. I think people believe he played 20 minutes a night and was a mainstay on our 1st unit PP. Flyers are breaking this kid in the right way, letting the veterans lead the way while he learns the game and adjusts to the speed. Also many rookies hit that wall, Couts showed no sign of that last year IMO. That was a great job by Lavy bringing him along the right way. He is a very talented offensive player, I guess people outside of us really haven't seen him play too much.
I am hoping for close to 40-45 points out of him this year. Schenn I hope for 50, and it would be great if he has a tremendous break out year and hits close to 60. It will really shut people up about these two kids "not having it" or being "way overvalued by our fanbase". Also kinda funny how we over value them, but every proposal made for our team seemingly has them in it. Funny how that works.
Enstrom just recently signed a 5 year extension with the Jets
Cause Clowe is awesome and will be a free agent next year. Enstrom can get traded after Winnipeg is in the bottom 5 again. He wants to compete, not be on a consistent loser. Visnovsky was a name I pulled out of a hat. Isn't he only like 30 though?

Visnovsky is 36 and if I remember correctly he had problems with shoulders, but especially with motivation and isn't psychically "okay" since the death of his buddy Demitra.

Ahh okay. Didn't know that. Well Clowe and a d-man is still possible.

Don't worry about it. Just laugh at the fact that every team's fans are trying to find ways to steal Couts and Schenn off the Flyers.
Winnipeg's front office has to be so pissed. I would be so pissed.

I'm a Clowe fan, but at this point we have enough top 6 guys and he's too good and too expensive to put on the third line. Him Schenn and Hartnell on a line together would be so damn awesome though.

We could put him on the 2nd line and maybe move Simmonds to the third. A third line of:
Simmonds - Couturier - Wellwood
would be damn fine defensively. We would have enough room if Timonen retires and Mez is dumped.

Matt Read, the guy who scored 24 goals last season, probably wants to play more than fourth line minutes.
I'm ok with the roster right now.
If there is a chance to get Yandle or Enstrom we should consider it but right now we should just stay course and look how L.Schenn and the other young guys respond to the bigger roles they'll have to fill next season.
A guy I like recently is Giordano. He's a complete package and could help in every facet of the game. He'd blossom in this city and in Lavy's system.
