These clouds approaching reminded me of the stormfront approaching at the end of the movie Take Shelter

Wow, what a front.

We are getting it hard in Sherwood Park now, the hail is like huge ice balls. Thought they were going to break my window.

havent seen **** in the SW here... I mean yes there was a period of heavy rain, some thunder and lightning, but all I'm hearing and seeing now is just plain grey clouds and rolling thunder, pretty much everywhere else but directly over my house. Still, it's been for quite some time now though.

sounds like a bunch of roads are flooded now from that storm.

My house sounded like it was under attack during that storm. The hail in my backyard is bigger than anything I've personally ever seen before. About loonie size.

I'm living in Calgary now, but for 20 years, I don't remember as many major storms as I've read about on these forums this year.

Has it really been that bad?? Every time there's a massive hail storm up there there's blue skies down here.

Sorry, mostly just curious, don't mean to rub it in...it IS Calgary, there are other problems I have to deal with haha.

Hasn't Calgary had it pretty bad as well? I mean I guess this is just typical Edmonton weather/storms but there have been more tornado warnings/watches then ever this year IIRC.

I think Josh Classen was saying about a week ago that this is the most active summer in over 10 years.

Usually Alberta sees "45 hail events" by this time, we've had over 90 this year apparently.

I remember reading somewhere that this year has been the most active since 2000.

Ran from chapters to my car, about 40'. Was soaked through to the skin in less than 10s from the rain, I would've been drier had I been in a shower. Couldn't believe how hard it was coming down. There was probably an inch of water running through the parking lot.

Probably not much, been over cast with little to no rain to the west of Edmonton.

Guess it was too much to expect nice weather for another September.

Crosbie on Global has a daytime high of 11 degrees for next Tuesday and the possibility of sleet. Classen's forcast on CTV is much more optimistic -- 14 and a chance of rain.

These meteorologists are never on the same page. I get a kick out of them seemingly competing against one another.

Funny how this thread went quiet over the weekend.

Time to gear up for another round of pissing and moaning for the next couple days about how some posters put all their t-shirts in a box and under the stairs and had to pull out their touques and mitts and turtlenecks.

Then we should be back to silence at the end up the week. About as fickle as the typical fan over the course of the season so yeha I guess you got a point Joe.

I could really careless, as long as it's not pouring rain I can find something to do on the weekends. Although if it is going to rain, pour like crazy on Sundays as I have a few games of football that can be watched.
