Talking overall points in the conference and finishing first in a weaker division only makes you 2 for the playoffs not in the points standings.
So stop the silly posts

I'm getting the idea that the ones with Kitchener and London in the top 2 are based on point totals, not playoff seeding....

Regardless of points...you can't finish 1/2 in the final standings if you are in the same division because the division winners are ranked 1/2. If it went by points..yes..but it doesn't...it goes division winners 1/2..then points.

Nothing silly about it...it's black and white.

I know how the league works. It doesnt take a genius to understand what is meant though.

The only thing you have contributed to the thread is telling people they cant have London and Kitchener 1-2 and that Cousins and Fritsch have more to worry about then hockey.

Your intentions seem pretty clear to me.

If I had to predict the final standings:

West:

Kitchener - A little biased perhaps, under the assumption Spott adds another top 6 player and someone on the back end.
Plymouth - Always a threat
Owensound - They look good and fast
London - (Would put them ahead of Kitchener if they had a bonafide starter)
Windsor
Guelph
Sarnia
Saginaw

I believe Sarnia and Saginaw will sell before the seasons out, could leave the Soo and Erie a chance to squeek in. I'd like to put the Soo higher, but with the issues there right now amongst some players and there selling the farm and theirs neighbours chickens for Campbell, just cant see them getting any higher then the 8 seed.

Possibly you could enlighten us as to what you feel they are...this should be good for a chuckle.

As for the West:

London
Plymouth
Kitchener
Owen Sound
Windsor
Guelph
Saginaw
Sarnia
Erie
Soo

I'll add that I think the top 4 could very well be inter-changeable this season. Those 4 will be tight..the rest is a crap shoot.

Not the time nor the place to enter into a pissing match.

I think you're right with the top 4. A number of circumstances could sway one over the other on any given night.

Kitchener at 0-5 thus far in the preseason doesnt help improve my belief, but i Spott has gone on record about adding, not if, but when.

I do believe the team to watch this year will be the Sound. They showed signs last year that they will be tough this year. Right now..I got them as my dark horse for the Conference.

I would say Plymouth right now because of the fact they have an easier division than Kitchener who has to play London and Owen Sound who should be contending teams as well.

Not silly then but I will not say what it is.
If the 2nd place team has more points than another division #1 then in this pre season predictions(conference) grouping they are still 2nd overall.

OHL season starts tomorrow and I don't know enough about the Eastern Conference to give a good prediction.

1) Plymouth
2) Kitchener
3) London
4) Owen Sound
5) Guelph
6) Windsor
7) Saginaw
8) Erie
9) Sarnia
10) Sault

My reasoning for Sarnia at #9 is that I believe Beaulieu will be smart and trade off his assets, resulting in a poor second half from inexperienced players. Erie should be better with good forward prospects, a good goalie, and improved defence. The top 3 should come as no surprise and Guelph is my team that will fly under the radar. Very good management and coaching staff in place with good young depth. Goaltending may be iffy, but you could say that for a lot of the teams. Windsor will be better but I'm just not convinced that they are a contender right now. I will be surprised if one of Plymouth, Kitchener, London do not win the OHL championship in the 2012-13 season.

I don't really follow the west, so I will just do the east:

1.Brampton (Solid D, Solid Goalie, Ok Forwards should contend for the east.)
2.Oshawa (From what I saw they seem to have Solid Forwards and ok D, but there goalie seemed Ok)
3.Sudbury (I understand that I am biased but I think we have a better team than people give them credit for! )
4.Ottawa (Losing a bunch of guys this year, should still finish top 4)
5.Peterborough (Watch for them this year, just a few guys short. With a few more pieces they could win the East)
6.Barrie (If the lockout stays on they could finish higher, but if it ends soon look for them to be sellers.)
7.Belleville (Even with subban they don't finish higher then 5)
8.Mississauga (Rebuilding...)
9.Kingston (Rebuilding...)
10.Niagara (Selling and Rebuilding)

Lol I geuss having Hamilton and Strome is destined for a last place finish, they won't rebuild with these two guys back common there going to finish top 3 In the conference no doubt. And Belleville is an hounerable mention in CHL top 10 there going top 3 in the east and Subban is a game changer...Best Goalie in the OHL.

Kudos

Throw Ottawa from first to 10th. and you hit the east right on.

The west is wide open - it should be really interesting to see who comes out of the west. Belleville/Barrie/Oshawa should benefit from the battle to win the west.
