Stanley Cup Hang Over

If there is a strike for a couple months, am I the only one who thinks this would help LA make another deep run in the playoffs?

No. A lot of us think a lockout of 4-8 weeks could be beneficial, if for no other reason than rest. That said, i'm sure we'd all rather it not happen.

The team is young. This is not the Lakers.

We don't need a lockout to repeat.

I think a lockout would benefit some of the older contenders more than the Kings, IMO.

We don't need a lockout, but it wouldn't hurt. The Kings played hockey for a month or in some cases two months longer than their biggest competition, so every little bit helps.

It can't hurt I wouldn't think. There's a reason why no team has repeated in 10 years, and it's not just because of the parity. It's very draining and the lay off isn't like what it was before. Now players are training pretty much year round, and to have to come off a cup win and get right back into training is hard. No real time to just rest. And that doesn't include the busy season some guys have, especially the stars, with cup appearances, parties, 'days with the cup' etc.

Heck look at Bob in the article posted on here. he had like 5 or 6 parties in just a few days after the cup, and I doubt it's going to come to a full stop this off-season. And he's the TV guy, not Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar or the NHL's most famous party man-couple, Jeff Carter and Mike Richards.

it would definitely help but we didnt get super banged up throughout the run and we played just 20 games. that being said we played more games than every team except 1, so it would help for sure!

We took a couple months off in the middle of last season, so we should be good, lockout or not.

Lockout or not, repeating will be VERY difficult. There's a reason why no one has done it since 1998.

The extra time off couldn't hurt though.

Repeating in the NHL is almost impossible so I will be very happy with a division title and 50 wins. We have to make a statement that we are now the new powerhouse in the Pacific division.

The composition and scenerios the Kings have won under give them as good a chance as ay to do this, if not better. This excites me.

The lockout benefits no one, players, owners, fans, etc... But this is something you have to deal with as a fan. I am a huge sports fan and though Hockey is my favorite sport, if the NHL has no season, I will just move on to other sports until Hockey comes back. I will not be upset and I will welcome them back and cheer like always.

Go Kings Go.

I've recently been watching clips and highlights from Gasper Kopitar he is not bad not at all. Really surprised actually.

Yeah I would prefer NHL hockey over USHL.

Good point.

I remember going to one of the Kings / Ducks game in Anaheim last season. Pretty sure it was the one where Quick let that awful goal in in the last minute of the game.

Somewhere around the second period of a pretty lame game, an Anaheim fan close to me was griping about Ducks and I just said "They both suck." That got some laughs in the section.

But they both did...

Just goes to show you never know what a long season will bring.
