He seems to value security since he stayed so long with Malmö in SEL-2. He also said in interviews that he found himself at home in Linköping and that's why he signed an extension almost immediately after coming to Linköping on a one year deal.

Maybe the injury to his eye plays a part in his decision too?

From what I've seen from him he is outstanding on SEL level and most likely could have made it in the NHL if things worked out for him.

Maybe the eye injury he suffered at 21 is a reason? I don't really know.

He sure has the talent to play in North America, no question about it. He just seems like a guy that values his social surrounding VERY much. He needs his social security in his life to feel comfortable.

That and of course the eye injury might have slowed him down a bit not reaching his full potential. The long stint in Malmö also had it's part in slowing down his development. But he's a beast on SEL ice.
