Incredible deal.

I was positive he was going to get the same contract as Hall, but I'd guess the extra UFA year against Hall was the reason for the 250k more.

Great signing, great work Chia.

would love to hear from jacobs on this signing. then read his comments in 4 days about how the players need to give money back and that these contracts are crazy

this kid isn't even a restricted free agent yet. this is just simply i want to get this deal in before the cba that im fighting is changed.

Another middle finger to Gary Bettman by ownership. The NHL proposes 5 year contract term limits and getting rid of salary arbitration so teams run to give out long term extensions when the player has a year remaining in entry level and the player has no leverage when the SPC expires. Then people rip the union for refusing to negotiate and don't want to discuss changes in contracts. Fehr wants teams to negotiate with the players and determine the contract terms. Bettman and the owners have proposed changes to contracts. Boston gives Seguin 6 years with the CBA expiring on Saturday. Jacobs is one of the key owners who doesn't want more revenue sharing. Cue the laugh track.

Wow... great deal for the Bruins. He could have easily got *A LOT* more... especially when you consider a guy like Parise got signed for $100M.

Wouldn't say it looks "silly" now. Theyre pretty much the same haha. Wouldnt have minded Halls deal either, if Seguin turns into the superstar we think he will Seguin has 1 less year of UFA status taken away from him than Hall.

Theres arguments for both...might have even preferred the extra 250k for one more UFA year.

Still too high for me for an unproven player. I want more than one good season from a player before offering them the salary of a PPG player. Unfortunately it looks like the NHL is paying for potential nowadays. That being said, still glad he'll be in Boston for another 6 years!!

Only when their name is Erik Karlsson, apparently.

Good deal for Boston, pretty much as expected with the other contracts thrown around.

As B's fan, I'm happy he's signed but these second contracts are rediculous. This is ruining the cap for teams. You can thank the offer sheet. Oh well 60 points gets you 6 million. Wow.
