The skating style is so stupid. Everyone skates like Taylor Hall. No EA, not every NHL player pushes the puck up with one hand on their stick while the other swings like crazy..

I'll get NHL13, but I'm going to wait a bit.

NHL fans are staring down the barrel of another lost season. Team owners and the players association stand at each other’s throats for the second time in under a decade, and neither side seems willing to bend. For those of us obsessed with our respective hockey teams (go Isles!) and deeply saddened by the prospect of being forced to watch the NBA, NHL 13 may be the only place we can go for respite. And that’s the first dose of good news loyal NHL fans have received in a while, because real hockey or not, NHL 13 is a fun, engaging and deep iteration of the world’s best sport.
To sum it up: Miserable about the real world? Play the video game. Sad but true.

It's a difficult adjustment so far, at least against the CPU. My go to shots don't work, which I like. Rebounds are MUCH MUCH better, which I love.

I've played every one since 2009 and this is the first time i think i might return the game.. it's just not fun. the skating is what turns me off. sure it's realistic but it's impossible move the way you use to be able to ..

The more realistic, the better.

Having to play dump-and-chase one in awhile or getting more creative are options I don't mind now and then.

Beat the Isles 7-0 on All-Pro. Looks like I'm adjusted.

This game isn't as realistic as it could be, theres no Lockout option.

I've played the demo and the only thing I hate is the new 'spiderman' goalies.

Don't think I'll be playing very often for the next few months though.

Anyone down to play one last game of NHL12 later on PS3? After that, time to move on.

After 1 game, I really like the skating. Just think of it as a gas pedal. Use it to accelerate, but glide into turns and such. Love the backward skating with the puck, really nice touch.

Passing on the other hand is kinda tough. Way more aim needed, but I like that they've made it harder.

Definitely on the passing. The guys won't pick it up on their own.

Picked it up after work today and I'm LOVING it. Started a Be A GM with the Hawks and I'm 5-1-0 through the first six games. The fact that I can score off of actual hockey plays now is fantastic.

The only thing I can't stand is that they somehow made the menus even slower.

And SOD, Lepisto, and Brendan ****ing Morrison lol.

I'm the Hawks in my GM Connected league and its pretty damn fun. Can't decide if i want to trade for a goalie or trade for a 2C or trade for a high 1st rounder to draft a goalie.

The game reminds me way more of FIFA than it ever has. It's way more dependent on making smart passes and defending areas instead of just playing the body or going for the poke. Both are huge improvements.
