Just a heads up... if you can wait and don't need to pick your game up on day 1... ToysRus was having a presale on the game for $44.99. Save 25% and free shipping.

Amazon had a pre-sale as well for $45/free shipping a few weeks ago. Not sure if its still going on. I'm sure Best Buy will have a deal at some point as well. There's no reason ever to pay full price for a game.

these games have been the exact same for the past 5 years. they keep saying they "improve" certain aspects of it, but nothing is different aside from the rosters

waste of money
The past few years haven't changed much, but this year's skating / gameplay is much, much different.
Aside from the obvious things (the new skating/physics engine, which I'm a huge fan of thus far), they've finally updated commentary, revamped the menus and presentation, and improved the GM mode. I need a few more days with this, but after the GIGANTIC disappointment that was NHL 12, I'm pretty happy to find I didn't repurchase the same game I've been buying for 5+ years. This is the biggest jump in the franchise since they added dual stick control.

If the season stays on hold - I may break down and buy an xbox and this game... Damn, like I need to spend even more time in front of the tv
Lockout is honestly one of the main reasons I got one (that and g being on the cover). Didn't get a chance to play it yet, mostly likely won't until sometime tomorrow.

Well, I'm a bit older, and got out of the computer game phase after games switched from floppy disks to CDroms.
I don't have any game console. And, I know that if I get one, I'll spent entirely too much time on it. With a job and child and wife, not sure how I'll fit the hockey game addiction into my schedule

Lol, it's hard enough being a full time student and working part time. I honestly haven't touched a video game in probably a year as a result. I can only imagine what having a wife and kid would do to your free time.
He's only 5 right now. I'm putting off the game console as long as I can - or at least that was the plan until I got the longing for this new NHL game... I want to put off the game addiction for him as long as possible - so he gets out and does things outside.
NHL 13 is an excellent, groundbreaking entry into the series critically acclaimed hockey series. If you love hockey, or are looking for a reason to forget all about the NHL lockout, NHL 13 is a must have game.
I'm getting that. Apparently it's a known issue. Gamestop claims that it has to do with the sheer amount of people putting in their codes.
I'm trying again tonight, if nothing, I will be returning to Gamestop for a new code.
Being an employee of GameStop, I can ensure you that whoever told you that is likely talking out of their ass The company should produce backup codes if the problem persists, and they can be had for free. Hopefully within a couple days. My code is also not working, btw.
I picked it up as well seeing no "real" hockey in the near future to watch.
Only diff is I play on PS3.
Well, I have no game console... So, I'd have to see which on is "best" and which is cheapest. I only saw the ad for it showing it was coming out for the Xbox. I didn't know what else it will be made for. I really know zero on which is better.. Play station or Xbox....
