Roughly 6-3, 190 lbs for those too lazy to convert.

Any streams for any kind of junior hockey at all? Not right now, but just in general.

Was looking at our weaknesses on our prospects page.

I'm assuming #1 (Some big offensive-upside players have issues with work ethic.) includes Glennie, but I'm having a tough time figuring out who else.

And #3 (Lack of capable centers.) doesn't seem accurate. I'm not really sure what they mean by capable, but I'd say Faksa and Eakin are more than "capable" of being NHL players (if that's what it means).

Hasn't been updated since the last draft. Faksa and Eakin were just acquired. Chiasson had/has work ethic issues, Stransky isn't exactly blue-collar - or at least, wasn't - Ondrej Roman was once thought to be something or other, even if it was a longshot and he wasn't that good of a worker...Brett Ritchie took a number of shifts off before he was traded...

Anyway, it will be updated...

Ah, okay. Wasn't aware it wasn't updated, my bad.

The games start counting this week in Europe.

Sweden
Bystrom, Ludwig (MODO) Opens season on Thur., 9/13, @ Skellefteå
Klingberg, John (Skellefteå AIK) Opens season on Thur., 9/13, vs. MODO
Molin, Emil (Brynäs) Opens season on Thur., 9/13, vs. Växjö

Finland
Jokipakka, Jyrki (Ilves) Opens season on Fri., 9/14, vs. Tappara
Kiviaho, Henri (KalPa) Opens season on Fri., 9/14, vs. JYP
Lindell, Esa (Jokerit) Opens season on Thur., 9/13, @ HIFK

Of those 6, it seems like only Kiviaho will not be in the top men's league. KalPa's junior team starts on Wednesday the 12th, but I also saw he could play in the lower men's league rather than another season in U-20.

Obviously things can change when you're presented with hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars, but Devin's former GM was very confident that he would go to Maine despite the moderately high selection by Barrie...also insinuated he won't need to be at the University for all four years, not by a longshot...

All I heard about Chiasson this last year were rave reviews about his leadership and work ethic?

I also haven't personally seen much evidence of that in my viewings of him and maybe they evaporated in the last couple years, but that was the knock on him coming in...

I can't find an actual game sheet for KalPa's Jr. A SM-Liiga game, but I know they beat Jokipojat 4-1.

I don't know who actually played in the game, but there's a reasonable chance Henri Kiviaho was the goalie. There's not even a news story about the game on either team's site.

Esa Lindell was a +1, had three shots and took one 2min penalty with 17.12 of icetime in a 7-3-loss.

Nothing to write home about, but an ok game for a first one.

Jyrki Jokipakka will start his season with former Predators and Panthers defenceman Ville Koistinen on the first pairing.

Ludwig Bystrom dressed for yesterday's game, but he didn't touch the ice.

Jyrki Jokipakka played just under 24 minutes as his team was blown out 7-1. He ended the game -1 with no points.

I don't know why at this time, but Emil Molin didn't play any games this weekend. Ludwig Bystrom suited up for 2 games, but he played less than 2 minutes TOTAL in both games. He didn't even touch the ice the first game. John Klingberg is still injured and not playing.

I found that Emil Molin played two games with the U-20 team for Brynas this weekend. He picked up an assist in one of the games.

The official stats website that I know of for Sweden doesn't seem to be working so I only found the information from some games articles.

One of the top OHL bloggers, Brock Otten, speculated Gemel Smith could be among the OHL scoring leaders this season.

Matej Stransky is day-to-day with a foot injury.

Devin Shore (mononucleosis) has been cleared to participate in practice, but they worry about him getting sick again.

Quote:
Shore was just activated, but the problem with [mononucleosis] is that it can come back at any time.

Esa Lindell played just over 18 minutes in a 3-0 loss. He had no point, no shots, was -2, and he had one minor penalty.

Nice piece on Matej Stransky, including a few quotes from yours truly.

Radek Faksa missed this weekend's final pre-season game with a "nagging shoulder injury - nothing serious," but he's back on the ice today with new linemates.

Thomson-Faksa-Rieder

Originally, the Rangers were going with a top line with their three best players, but based on today's practice it seems Puempel is now on a different line.

CHL hockey starts tonight!!!

I'm going to be busy tonight, but I hope to catch the Kitchener game on radio tomorrow.

I wonder if the NHL Network is going to carry the Friday night special CHL games on Saturday mornings like they did last year.
