No they can't. My understanding is that if he plays overseas (and their is an NHL season) that will take up his last year on his contract, and we'll not have to pay him.
If i have this wrong someone will correct me.

Cap skate - only new face: Crankshaft.

Owen Nolan stopped by (and Mike Ricci, but I think he didn't want to be seen).

Couture tweeted he's sick in bed today.

Burish and Pavelski the new faces today.

Couple of writers taken down to dressing room, so be on the lookout for some new stories.

Brodie ranks Sharks #3 (out of six) of the pressure to win a championship of local teams.

It's beyond me why there'd more pressure on the Giants to win a championship than on the Sharks.

Because in reality, the Sharks are still mired in a sort of anonymity or obscurity when it comes to the Bay Area media. There's no external pressure on you if people don't care to put it on you. There's probably more internal pressure to win as opposed to the other teams but from the outside, the Giants and 49ers have championship-caliber teams right now...the Sharks don't unless they get an amount of luck they've never had before.

Desjardins was skating this morning.

Pollak, Kurz and Brazil (with cameraman) were all at Sharks Ice today. So, there will be blog/stories coming up later today (I think Kurz has one already) and tonight on CSN.

(No skating tomorrow -- golf tournament)

I'm confused on a few of them.

From our point of view, I don't know:

The guy left of Randy
The guy to the left of Woodcroft
The guy to the right of Burns
The guy to the left of Dan

I assume the 3 guys to the left of Greiss, and the guy above Greiss are guys who donated.

But seriously, it's like Marleau is doing these things on purpose.
