Can the Sharks void his contract if he signs with another team while under said contract?
No they can't. My understanding is that if he plays overseas (and their is an NHL season) that will take up his last year on his contract, and we'll not have to pay him.
If i have this wrong someone will correct me.
Ha! For a second there I thought that he was attending it to learn instead of being a speaker
I can imagine his office being full of, "Coaching for Dummies", "Being an NHL Assistant Coach for Dummies", "Player Management for Dummies", "Overcoming Height Challenges for Dummies", "Bratwurst for Dummies"...
It's beyond me why there'd more pressure on the Giants to win a championship than on the Sharks.
Because in reality, the Sharks are still mired in a sort of anonymity or obscurity when it comes to the Bay Area media. There's no external pressure on you if people don't care to put it on you. There's probably more internal pressure to win as opposed to the other teams but from the outside, the Giants and 49ers have championship-caliber teams right now...the Sharks don't unless they get an amount of luck they've never had before.
