For Desmarais(the Father), hockey revenues are chump changes for him.
And if he wanted to invest big in sports, he would have done so a long time ago. The Remparts cost nothing yet they are only in there as part owners.
Like I already said in another thread, owning a team is gravy for those kind person. Granted that they like sport, of course. So, why would they invest in a team that plays in the states/Western Canada? He now has a chance to buy a team that will be near where he lives.
Roy said some interesting things. He said he wasn't impressed in the Habs getting Prust as he said grit is overrated in a league with no hooking a la pre-Lockout. I'm happy he did not become the Habs' GM now.

Roy is once again and still is pissed at the Habs. He is such a ****in baby. Keep this idiot away from my team ! Go coach the future Nords. Any move the Habs will make he will trash it, this is why AC wanted him.

Gagnon said something along the lines that Prust's GF, Maripier Morin, should be able to stop working, with some derogatory comment about her. Roy has his faults, but not in this case. Gagnon clearly crossed the line.

He is also the first person that criticized Bergevin hiring so many people, saying "sometime there's too many cooks in the kitchen" when comes time to make decisions. And wondered why the Habs didn't go after Parise. Damphousse had to explain to him that Parise and Suter were best friends and wanted to play in their hometown. I mean really, I always thought Roy was a cerebral guy?

I think Marie-Pier is a stupid hair head but Gagnon didn't have to make those comments. I'm never surpised by his lack of class.

I agree with everything you wrote here, except this...hehe

Roy is pretty much disconnected from the NHL. In the Q, if he wants someone, he gets him (players available). He makes a lot of efforts to convince players to play for the Remparts and obviously, he's to disconnected to know that the NHL does not work like the Q.
Roy said you win games with skills and not with guys like Prust wich is true.
He said grit is overrated and the getting guys like Prust is pointless because hockey has changed after the first Lockout because of the hooking.

He said the summer the Habs had was a plan B and none of the player signed should habe been a plan A wich is also true.
And plan A is what, waiting for UFAs that every teams will jump on? Better make trades if you're not happy with your team

He had difficulties explaining himself because he seemed very nervous. It seemed like he wanted to say 2 much with not enough time.
I've never seen Roy nervous in interviews and he certainly wasn't there.

And yes what he said about Parise is also true... He knew the circumstances but really Parise Suter should have been every team's # prioritie.
Roy never mentioned Suter wich shows that the guy was pretty out of the whole thing. Every teams wanted to get Parise but that's what Vinny was explaining to Roy, the destination was Minny. And if not it would have been probably Philly or Pittsburgh anyway.
