The only one I consider "filling empty seats" is the one I PM'd you about, the rest are all at least conference players and I think most if not all of them are England players. I don't know anything about the foreign players, apparently they've still got a couple more players to announce.

They've got far from the best U16 team they could possibly have though, most of them are young, they'll be playing against older players in the U16 league that's for sure. I won't be surprised if they don't win the league.

Their first league game is away to Bracknell next Saturday, then they play the regular Swindon team on the Sunday. There's a good chance I will be allocated to one of those games, if I am I will let you know

So the season officially started today with some junior league games and NIHL

The Panthers goalie Kowalski scored a ENG in pre-season against Asiago (Italy)

Apparently he's done it before when he played in the Italian league:

Fife wins the 1st Scottish Autumn Cup over Braehead. Dundee take 3rd place game over Edinburgh, Interviews on various teams sites.
Nottingham spit games with Asiago
Earlier in the week Braehead beat Dutch side Tilburg Trappers.
It's hard to read EIHL exhibition games as the players they have are what they got.
There's not like allot of bubble guys playing for a position that the coach wants to see in games before the cuts are made or even who they want as affiliate's in case of call ups.

Yeah a lot of the imports haven't arrived in the country yet because of Visa issues caused by the Olympics

Border force are actually having to do their job for once, god forbid.

Well, thanks to Hewitt's check from behind and Leeb's reaction, controversy abounds. Finnerty throwing stones in a glass house as usual, and all manner of events being blown out of proportion.

99 problems, you ref right? Show the EIHL how to improve their standards of officiating for me will you?

Andre Payette named coach of GB U20's, I think this is a good appointment after everything he has achieved with the Steeldogs

99 Problems, saw on THF that the EIHA is trying to do four man systems at games this season, feasible with the numbers you have? Will we see more linos step up as refs?

Going through the Giants roster and I noticed a couple guys from NI on the roster.
I know there's another rink in Belfast Dundonald Ice Bowl. But I was unaware of much youth hockey.
Upon further surfing I see that Belfast Giants SNL played a game vs a Dublin team the Latvian Hawks at the new National Ice Arena (I gues it's refurbised cold storage warehouse) in Dublin with hopes of joining the SNL this season.
Any more word on Belfast joining the SNL?

I've never heard "John Brown's Body" being played at a hockey game before.

Just watched a vid from the Devils. Interesting to hear plain talk on money and budgets.

Devils will have an operating budget of 250,000 Pound Sterling which according to the online currency converter I used translates to 390,000 CAD.

Hard to get facts on finances sometimes.

Just heard that 2012 Team GB Olympian, Ashley Jackson, may be suiting up for Invicta at the weekend against my Bristol Pitbulls. Has anyone ever seen him play?

Apparently he has a wickedly fast flick in field hockey.

I lined Invicta last week and they had a few Jackson's on their team, none of their players really stood out though

Oh really? I think there's two Jacksons at Invicta, assuming they're related.

I believe David Jackson the goalie is the same Scot who played a couple of Elite games for Edinburgh season or two back.

I'm absolutely positive they had 3 Jackson's on the team, one was the goalie.

Things go from bad to worse for Coventry Blaze.

EPL fans, hold your British players close. Given how short their bench is, with Domish also out and Danton still without a visa, I'm sure Thommo will be sniffing around soon for something fairly immediately available.

Edit: and in further news, Jari Kurri is going to be at the Giants@Panthers game on Sunday. That is fairly good for the sport in the UK surely, having a fairly well-regarded player like him in attendance?

Argh I need to try and get sunday off work now.

edit: ok finishing early, now I need to decide whether or not to get one of my jerseys signed.

edit2: looks like there won't be any opportunities to the public to get autographs, photos etc

No autograph or photo but I did meet Jari on his way out of the NIC after the game.

Shame the game wasn't a particularly good one. But good result and I met Kurri so I'm happy as Larry.

if it goes a full year anyone wanting a year of uni education paid for might.

I know Nottingham offer uni fees paid for while playing for them, and it's a light schedule so they could actually complete a year pretty easily.
