This could be a really great night if LA and St. Louis lose along with the Pirates.

I feel dirty enjoying this playoff push, considering how much I dogged this team from the end of last season. But I love it when the kids and nobodies get to take the reigns. And this team is built to hunt, the love it. Last year they went wire to wire in first, and let their foot off the gas and paid for it. Could be a great end to the season

Plus the Nats, A's, Orioles, and maybe Pirates fighting their way in? Love the underdogs.

I cannot recall the last time I rooted for the San Diego Padres to do anything.

Phillies win and the Dodgers, Pirates and Cardinals all lose. What a perfect night.

Big game tonight (well, they all are at this point) going into a 4 game set with the Astros during the same time that the Cards and LA square off for 4 as well.

If by some miracle we can run off 5 in a row, we are very likely to be tied or 1 game out by Sunday given that neither the Dodgers nor Cards seem likely to sweep each other.

I've been wanting to see them call Aumont up all year, why did it take say long with the horrible bullpen they had? They kept bringing up stiffs from the minors, and throwing them out there. This dude's stuff is ridiculous.

If we assume that the Cardinals rescue a game today--or that we both loose--then I don't think we can get much close than 2 games out by the end of the week (which would still be fantastic).

If we sweep Houston, and the Cardinals and Dodgers split, we'd be up to around 75 wins (pending today's game), while they would be at 77 and 76 respectively.

We're three behind the Dodgers and four back from the Cardinals. Someone has to win their games.

Both have three games each against the Nats and Reds remaining, but St. Louis appears to have the easier schedule otherwise. I guess best case scenario for us is that we sweep Houston, and the Dodgers take 3 of 4?

Us sweeping the Astros and having the Dodgers take 3 of 4 would be perfect. Hopefully the Pirates continue to plummet as well.

I'm not that concerned about the Pirates. At this point, the Phils need to play at such a high level over the last 20 games that I can't see them passing the Cardinals and the Dodgers without blowing away the Pirates too.

Looking at the schedule just doesn't hold much water for me. When you think about it, this time of year is incredibly screwed up with the expanded rosters, prospects getting their cup of coffee, injuries, clinching max position, being eliminated from contention, fighting for jobs, etc. The Nats were world beaters down the stretch last season.

I hate to even look past tonight because it all comes down to winning your games. Regardless of what the other teams do, we just need to keep winning. If we win 15 or more of the last 20 games, we'll be right there.

Wow did I get that bet in just in time.....

Odds went way down today.

NL Pennant is +2500 compared to +9000
World series is +5000 compared to +15000

Thank god I made it yesterday!

How much did you put down man? Enough to spring for a Flyers HF Pizza and beer party if you win?

haha Yes it would win enough to do that. I really am just so thankful I got it in yesterday before the odds fell so much. I put down a total of 800 dollars between them winning the Pennant and the World Series.

Going to the 9th inning in the Padres/St Louis game now. Let's close them out here.
