That's not what he is asking. Yes they could extend the current CBA one year but the owners don't want to do that especially since the NHLPA didn't even start talks until well after the season was over.

Check out the CBA status thread, the NHLPA is getting hammered. Everyone is now just realize the NHLPA has no intent on changing anything or negotiating. They want 57% and they want it to go up to 59%.

I laugh every time Fehr references the MLB.

Lets just call up the Hershey Bears to fill in at Verizon Center, heh.

Donald Fehr looks exactly like Colin Mochrie. Just saying.

I don't remember this last lockout so can someone enlighten me, do the players if they get locked out the whole year, does that count against their contract years?

I'm guessing not because no one is talking about losing the 2nd and Eakin for nothing with Ribiero only having one year on his contract.

That's a great injustice to Colin Mochrie.

It's negotiated as part of the new CBA.

And they did count the last one as an accrued season, so if they did it again it would be an issue for Ribeiro and similar guys. Although if it gets that far then there are bigger things to be angry about, I'd think.

I find it extremely funny that once again the NHL takes an idea from another league(s) that works well and manages to half ass it.
