Cody Franson for Sam Gagner, where does Gagner fit

Lupul-Kadri- Kessel
JVR-Grabo-Gagner
Mac-Bozak-Kulemin
Steckel-McClement-Brown

Frattin

Kadri and Bozak are interchangable, Connoly and Lombardi will be gone or spare parts, possibly thrown in as part of the trade. This trade has been rumoured for awhile and seems like a good marriage with Edm needed D and interested in the big point shot from Franson. Would you make this deal and is 1 for 1 a fair price

We have enough centres too, just not a #1 centre.

Of EDMs wingers I actually think Eberle has the highest career potential. Hall is probably the one we need most (power forward). If were wishing for one of their young guns, RNH is the one we should be hoping for. No team wins in the NHL without a legit #1C, and hes probably going to be one.

Gillis said there may be a three way trade when asked about Luongo today.

To Florida: Luongo

To Toronto: Theodore, Upshall

To Vancouver: Lombardi, Franson

Upshalls cap hit is a bit rich, but I would consider that.

Yeah he's definitely overpaid, but he's a wrecking ball and doesn't seem to be a fit in FLA. Upshall and Frattin on the third line would be fun to watch. If we are getting rid of Lombardi there would be room for Upshall. We need all the physical players we can get.

I'd do this easily, always liked Upshall. Plus he's buds with Lups

Um why? They're trying to unload a dman, not trade for another one. I think we should jump all over one of Leddy/Hjalmarsson. Leddy at only 21 had 37pts, he's going to be a stud.

Garbage is hyperbole.

EDIT: I am not saying however this is a deal Chicago would make, it is not.
Lombardi hasn't played good hockey in 2 seasons now. Mind you he didn't play one of them but he still hasn't played well in 2 years. If someone else plays poorly for 2 years in a row most will write them off as no longer having their A game and having regressed. People then value that player lower and Lombardi will be as such. Also I see Lombardi less apart of this teams future than I see someone like MacArthur or Komi. We don't need him for the future but we can't really get rid of him now either. Unfortunately it looks like he will just be around this coming season and I believe it will be without much contribution.

This is how I see our lineup by seasons end/next year when we get rid of the extra garbage(i.e Lombardi, connolly)

Lupul-????/Bozak-Kessel
Kadri-Grabo-JVR
Kulemin-Mcclement-Frattin
Komarov-Steckel-Brown.

Phaneuf-Rielly(next year)
Gardiner-Gunnar/???
Liles-????/Gunnar
????
that 3rd line would be awesome imo, big, skilled, fast and defensive. kulemin and kadri can split 2nd/3rd line time .
2nd line is decent, JVR brings size, Kadri has alot of skill, grabo is grabo.
top line needs a C but still solid.

quality forward group overall IMO and capable of reaching the playoffs barring poor goaltending.

I'm sick of talking about Luongo all summer but I'm curious as to what you guys think about something like this.

Vancouver
MacArthur
Franson
Tampa 2nd

Toronto
Lecavalier

Tampa Bay
Luongo

JVR - Lecavalier - Kessel
Kulemin - Bozak - Lupul
MacArthur - Conolly - Frattin
McClement - Steckel - Brown

Leave Kadri in the AHL until there's an injury or a need for a call-up.
Keep Lombardi around in case of injuries.

That 3rd line might work, but I've never heard the words Mcclement and awesome in the same sentence before, and him and frattin aren't very big... Unless bozak is considered a big hockey player.

Vinny should be more valuable than what you have there in my opinion.

Would you consider Dustin Brown "not very big?"

Height isn't everything.

Amen.

Frattin is a lot like Brown in the sense that both have very solid frames and very solid bases for their height, which make them "big".

They're not going to intimidate anyone with their height, but they're certainly capable of playing a big game due to their frame.

Ok, so they "play big". But that's not what he said. 6 foot 200lbs isn't big, its average, regardless of how a player uses it. Kulimen, he's big. Yes they hit and protect the puck well, but saying they're big is a stretch, when they run into a guy like chara, it doesn't matter how big they play, physics are physics.
