7 runs in 1 ****ing inning. you really can't make this **** up. it's like they get to september and then decide they don't care anymore.
edit: fine, make it 8 then.
Yeah well the Braves are pretty much locked into a wild-card spot, several games back of the division and up on the rest of the mediocre field.
Try being a Mets fan...the frigging Nationals and your Braves have more second-half wins at Citi Field (6 and 5) than the Mets do (4 home wins in the second half)

at least you get to go into the season knowing you'll suck. i cheer for far too many teams that are supposed to be good and then fail anyway. falcons, braves, georgia tech, it gets painful sometimes.
They're 6 up on the Cards and 6.5 up on the Dodgers with 19 to play. It's not like last year when you only needed one to make that huge jump, TWO teams would have to make that jump to knock the Braves out of the Wild Card game. Pretty much impossible, unless you're the '07 Mets.

The Jets do that too...or come to the very inch of satisfaction and then fall down an elevator shaft. Even the darn Falcons have managed to make a Super Bowl in the last forty years, not the Jets though lol.
Your teams at least don't celebrate almosts the way mine do (the Jets can't remind people enough they made the AFCG two straight years, and the Mets made a frigging highlight video for 2006).
I REALLY hope the Brewers don't make the playoffs. I hate Braun, I hate Gomez, I hate Hart, etc. Before you ask how can anyone hate the Brewers, I'm a Cubs fan. I can hate them. I've never hated the Cardinals really since their overall players never bothered me. I have zero problems with the Reds. In fact, I hope they represent the NL in the World Series.
If the Phillies complete this comeback they have my respect even if I still completely hate them
I don't hate the Phillies per se but I certainly wouldn't respect them. They've played like utter crap for almost the entire season. Last month they decided to show up and it might just be enough to get them in. That type of stuff makes me sick, that you can just start playing ungodly baseball in August and sneak in. However, as another poster explained to me, it's also due to the Dodgers, Cardinals and Pirates not being able to buy a win.

I didn't realise they were so close to getting in. Came up out of the cellar pretty quickly. I'm sure they were aided immeasurably by the Mets' collapse.
