They kind of leave me indifferent. Yes, it's more inexperienced Bergevin buddies, but at the same time, these low-end positions really aren't going to have an impact commensurate with the media attention they are getting. Well, with the exception of Lefebvre as heir apparent, obviously, which looks like a good move even though Lefebvre hasn't been a head coach yet.
The real issue I think is Bergevin being done now and his front office being very short in business/numbers knowledge. And I mean neither "selling the game" nor "advanced stats here", I mean basic asset valuation, risk-reward calculations, and capology, all vital GMing skills that should be held by someone with major influence on the decision-making.
The inner circle right now looks to be Bergevin, Dudley, Carriere and maybe Mellanby, with Dudley looking like the most influential figure. I'm not really a fan.
But Lapointe as director of player development? Meh. If he basically listens to Timmins he'll do fine.
