I think the Bourque injury had an impact here. Eller is the obvious choice to move up into the top 6, and thus a bottom six of plugs.

Bourque was obviously pencilled into that 2nd line LW slot.

I wouldn't worry at this point.

I don't hate the Subban/Bouillon pairing actually.

If Bouillon can still follow the kid for 20 es minutes though.

Bouillon should not be playing anywhere near 20 minutes or more a game.

Bouillon is closer to 15 minutes a night, if he plays over 20 I feel bad for Price!

it just seems like he's trying stuff out in practise, I wouldn't be that worried. I actually don't mind those top three forward lines

These must be preseason lines and pairings, rather than a depth chart. I'd bet the bank Gorges-Subban is back for the regular season (if there is one).

I wonder if the organization think they know something the rest of the league doesn't about Prust? I've been critical of the signing, but if he can get the same results at center and on the wing, maybe his value is closer to what they are paying.

Interesting that Thrower is penciled in on a pairing, and not Dietz.

Season or no season, its gonna be a long one for Habs fans.

I always liked Bouillon, Armstrong can have a bounce back year and Prust is gritty but lets not kid ourselves, the Habs are not that much improved from last season.

I don't see how they can finish in the top 8 with this lineup unless Price pulls a rabbit out of his cowboy hat.

Looks like he's auditioning two different 2nd pairings in Gorges-Kaberle and Markov-Emelin.

That makes sense. Keep the better of the two together and move either Gorges or Markov to play on Subban's left and either Emelin or Kaberle plays 3rd pair LD. So:

Markov-Subban
Kaberle-Gorges
Emelin-Diaz/Weber

or

Gorges-Subban
Markov-Emelin
Kaberle-Diaz/Weber

Unless he loves Boullion so much he wants to saddle his best defenseman with him.

Interesting theory. It's also possible Kaberle is being showcased - I still think the team finds a way to trade him, if Markov is healthy.

Perhaps, but I still do not see why Gorges-Subban should be broken up. To me, if they are going by this logic of the ''DD line is set in stone because they did so well'', that pairing should be set in stone too because it performed at a high level too.

And we all know he loves Bouillon a ton, so you can't discount that he really thinks Bouillon can ''mentor'' Subban or something.

Well Gorges-Subban would be breaking up for the awesomeness of Markov-Subban in my theory.

Then again he could be a big enough fool to think Boullion-Subban is a good idea.

Markov, Kaberle and Bouillon have played LD pretty much their whole careers, Gorges playing on the left would mean one of Markov, Kabs or Bouillon would need to play on the right which I'd be surprised to see.

The picture is gone as of now. Hmmm.

In fact, Stubbs deleted the tweet of it...

I found a smaller version of it.

Regardless, read the thread, it's pretty well covered what is on it.

Bouillon played RD with the Preds last year in the playoffs, in fact it was with Gill early in the Phoenix series, but you are right that it's a bit of a puzzle.

I don't see any reason Boullion needs to be in the regular lineup at all if everyone is healthy.

I see a big reason. He's call Michel Therrien.

Therrien brought Bouillon with the Habs earlier in his career.

Therrien sees Bouillon in his soup.

Search "Michel Therrien's Depth Chart" in google and you'll find what you're looking for.
