Didn't they just sign both Benoit and Jessiman this summer?

I'm guessing this is just to make room on the roster for the lockout?

They have to be waived so they can be assigned to Binghamton for the upcoming AHL season.

Oh ok, that makes more sense. But still, I thought that with 2-way contracts you didn't have to go through waivers.

Blame EA sports. Two way contracts have nothing to do with waivers, however, a players age and games played do.

Edit: I think this year they fixed this in game though!

Haha no worries. Normally people get confused because of the video games that EA puts out. In those games any two-way player could be moved up and down without risking another team taking them.
