Unsportsmanlike misconduct or delay of game misconduct? Possibly something like that. Or his own coach tying him to to the bench.

Dunno about the rest of you, but of all Omark's issues I never found diving to be among them.

I'd agree, just shocked it's a 10 minute penalty. The nucks would have no one left if they called that in the NHL.

Indeed. I remember him being called for diving once in a game, but it was a total BS call. It's just not in his game

Looks like he embellished it for sure, but it also looked like he was hooked. Probably would have been offsetting minors in the NHL, no?

Who the hell knows, they change their mind game to game.

Love how Ricardo is twice the size of Omark on the back of the jersey.

Found the diving penalty with the Oilers, FWIW. It's at around 5:13 of the highlights.

Wow, thanks for the link! Well done in actually finding that play. I wouldn't have remembered the game for the life of me
I was so pissed when that happened. What a terrible call

Looks like he definitely did dive in that YT above though. WTF Linus?

That one left a real bad taste in my mouth. The Oil were coming on strong and looking to tie it 2-2 and then that call happened, the Yotes score on the PP and that's all she wrote.

Yeah, it's definitely BS and I hate to see him do that, but after watching Dustin Brown embellish every time he was hit a fraction of a second late in the Kings' cup run last year, I'm not even really surprised by it anymore. When the refs are pocketing their whistles and a player feels someone set a hook on their hands, you'll often see them go down like they've been shot to try to force the call. Obviously backfired for old Linus. Cant believe thats a 10-minute penalty in Switzerland. I doubt we'll see him try that one again.

For those of you that still care (the ones that don't - just don't read it...).

Update on how Omark is doing (which in some sense still is an Oilers asset):

After six games, he is second in team scoring with 7points. 3 goal and 4 assists.

The NHL call wasn't a dive, he stumbled a bit but got up and tried to keep the play going. Bad call.

The YT/Swiss clip was definitely a dive. Hopefully the 10 minute penalty smartens him up.

Gagner is on the same team, right? How's he been doing?

There's a much better angle on this in Oil Change episode 6 act 1 at 2:45. I recall this penalty pretty vividly too, because for a call that never seems to get made when it's obvious, this was the worst calls of diving I have ever seen. Particularly note how quickly he gets back up and carries on the play... no attempt to sell anything to anyone.

According to hockeydb, he hasn't played any games yet.

Having a quick look at the roster shows some interesting things:

1. The Sutter's are branching out to Europe for world domination. Fabian Sutter, Brandon's distant cousin, is on Omark's team.

2. Jussi Markkanen is their goalie

I also noticed their leading scorer is Damien Brunner. Wings just signed him and Babcock's quoted for saying that he'll put him in the top 6 to start the year. He's got 8 points in 4 games so far.

Who is the teams leading scorer?

Pumped for Omark. Hopefully we give him one more shot after one more year of a lockout and then he becomes a mini versteeg on our way to the Cup on our 3rd line.

I know, I know....but if there's room for Horcoff on this roster, surely we can find room no?

I, for one, am rooting for the guy.

He's not even a 3rd the player Versteeg is, he's done in NA, hopefully.

I find it so bizarre to read posts like this. 'Hopefully'? The Oilers still hold the kid's rights. Why would you hope for him to fail? Personally, I hope he goes on a tear and outpoints guys like Nash and Couture in the Swiss league and entices some team to give us a 2nd or 3rd rounder for his rights.
