Bouillon played RD with the Preds last year in the playoffs, in fact it was with Gill early in the Phoenix series, but you are right that it's a bit of a puzzle.
Well thats actually a bit better then, I never knew that.. it'd be best to see Gorges/Subban as our big minute pairing again with Markov/Emmy as our second pairing then a combo of Kaberle/Bouillon/Diaz as our third pair but I guess there is no point in worrying about it now since who knows when we'll even play again.
I've always wanted to see a top 6 forward lines like this especially since the injury to Bourque:
Every line has a playmaker and 2 shooters...every line has a great defensive pivot and size is well distributed...Cole can create space for Eller and Gio...meanwhile Gio can get more shots on net because Eller is good at dishing the puck and protecting it...
Desharnais stays with Patches and Pleks gets two excellent wingers!
I rather convert Desharnais to wing opposed to center since Eller is better positioned to play a 2 way game than Desharnais, and Desharnais can still be a set up man ala Tanguay
People are overreacting like crazy. That Subban is on the third pairing means nothing. For all we know he's still organizing his trios/pairs to form various training camp teams, lines and combos for pre-season game.
If Prust is decent at center, then its a new option given to Therrien. No reason he shouldn't try it if Prust says he's comfortable with playing center.
If Eller wants to play on the top6 and show what he can do offensively, he needs to play wing.
Therrien probably wants to try multiple and various defense pairings. If by some miracle all 3 have perfect chemistry then he's going to roll 3 good pairings. More likely they are going to change a few mins into practice.
People should chill down. Therrien is trying stuff and thats what training camp is all about.
I like the idea of having 3 balanced Defensive pairings...and I think by putting Bouillon-Subban as the 3rd pairing on the board didn't mean Subban is playing on the 3rd pairing. It means that Therrien wants to put that pairing with Moen-Prust-Arm which would provide a full hitting/checking line. Subban can still doubleshift with Gorges from time to time during the game and will probably be playing on the 1st PP and 1st PK.
The only thing that I didnt like is Gomez-White-Gallagher as the 4th line. But otherwise, good combos.
