The problem with Omark is he seems to think he deserves to be in the NHL. His game is raw and in need of more conditioning in the minors before he is able to be a positive impact at the NHL level.

Too many times we hear how sore and disappointed he is that he 1) doesn't make it out of camp 2) Gets sent down 3) Has to play in the AHL. The guy has really rubbed management the wrong way with his poor attitude. Yes, he's talented but he feels entitled to a valuable roster spot that he hasn't deserved.

Contrast to Paajarvi, who has understood and taken his ups and downs with class and with no backtalk to Swedish media. He handles his situation in complete contrast to Omark and it seems that management sees that and gives him more chances and for good reason.

I can see things from Omark's perspective as well. He's someone who wants to begin his NHL career as soon as possible and thinks he has the ability to do so. Many players have reasonably selfish reasons for wanting the things they do, but much of that is usually tempered with a team-oriented attitude towards winning and a team-first mentality.. I don't see that in Omark. I see someone looking to capitalize as fast as possible. His comments and demands have made it seem like he doesn't care who is currently more deserving of the spot.

For those reasons, I think Omark will find himself struggling in this way on any team he goes to. He is turning into Robbie Schremp v.2.

I AM an oiler fan and have said that numerous times. Truthfully i feel he is more talented and has better NHL tools schremp OR Nilsson, but when Hemsky signed the extension we all knew who was being shown the door.

the kid had one practice with EV Zug, and then helped with two wins against last years 1st placed team, and came out with 4 points... Too bad he never got a shot at actually playing hockey in Edmonton... Inb4, oh its eurostyle hockey, its a crap league, the ice is bigger...

They forgot to add "But mostly, just another third-liner not living up to their potential".

More like a first-liner not living up to his potential.

It's too bad he wasn't able to live up to his hype and solidify himself as an everyday NHLer instead of YouTube/shoot out sensation. He's a one dimensional offensive player that isn't fast enough for his style of playing. He may claim that he's commited to a team game etc. but his own ice actions and results spoke for themselves. Listening to him isn't different than hearing a politician campaigning for a position only to see the promisesmgomtotmthe wimd once he actually reaches office.

There are many things I hate Klaus Zaugg for. His column is one of them.

Wait so are you saying playing in a lesser league, a less physical league and with more open ice isnt benefitting Omark or are you saying he is not playing in a lesser league?

Omark has the ability to play in the NHL no doubt, he can even rack up some decent numbers.

No room on the Oilers though, he could definitely play in some teams top-6. The Oilers will find a trading partner eventually he just needs to be patient. He'll dominate the Swiss league.

Those jerseys is really ugly. Has Omark changed his name to ricardo?

Not that the jerseys in Swedish club hockey are that much better (a little bit though). If you have to sell ads on the jerseys make sure that they fit in.

The jerseys we have here are all really really ugly, full of advertising. I myself would never buy or wear one. Wearing one make you look like a freaking billboard

Ah that was the word I was looking for, thanks!

It's a pity it's like that. I think there should be some pride in your uniform, I understand that european clubs lack money and maybe need to sell some of that pride but there should be limit to that.

As you said as well, jerseys like that cant be selling much.

As an apparent Avs fan you are welcome to his rights for a middle round draft pick.

You mean that he is physically able to play? He certainly had opportunities in the AHL and NHL over here when he wasn't whining or being injured.
