Also, maybe we can use the waived prefix so it's more noticeable that this is for all waived players so we don't get multiple threads being created?
I'll make a separate list below if anyone should get claimed.

Well, what the league did in 2004-05 was to suspend the waiver process entirely for all players on 2-way contracts. Only problem is, the Habs sent Beauchemin down like 2 days before that happened, when waivers were still active. I don't think there was any "unwritten rule", the Habs just didn't really care enough to wait, or weren't aware they were going to get that chance 2 days later. Beauchemin wasn't seen as any hot commodity at the time, although he was a good AHL player.

Maybe once the CBA actually expires on Saturday night, they will be able to do this again? Might some teams be waiting for that to make their assignments?

Waiver list won't come out until closer to 12 EST, but J.T. Wyman will be the only Tampa Bay to be waived.

Don't think this is happening this time around. I know the Kings are debating what to do with a couple of players (Hickey, and Muzzin specifically) because they either have to let them sit or possibly lose them to waivers. The rule this time is players are only getting an exemption from re-entry waivers once/if an NHL season happens.

Someone should claim Boychuk, but it won't happen. I think he could still be a decent scoring forward in a new scenery.

IIRC, the whole Beauchemin thing could have been avoided if the Habs had simply told him to sign an AHL deal directly with Hamilton, instead they wanted to assign him there directly (which meant going on waivers due to his pro experience at the time).

Has to be more than that. No Hickey or Muzzin.

Not surprising. LA probably does not want to risk them to waivers, teams could claim them now, keep them until TC then take a look at them. LA does not want to risk that.

Might be because Hickey and Muzzin could get claimed.

Full list.

Has there been any clarification on whether today is the last day players can be put on waivers?
I know that it was initially said that the special waiver period would exist until the 15th, but does that mean that the last day players can be put on waivers is the 15th or that the last day they'll be processed is the 15th, meaning today is the last day players can be put on waivers?

The only name that sort of surprises me is JT Wyman. Big Body, good depth guy. I thought he had earned a spot in TB in the second half of the season. Guess I was wrong.

Well, the whole thing could have been avoided if the Habs had waited until the NHL suspended the waiver process, anyway.

There do seem to be some "quality" players on waivers... it's all a little subjective and borderline, of course, but I would presume the teams are under the impression atm that they will have to waive anybody they assign to their AHL team.

The Habs really ought to have St-Denis, Desjardins, and Palushaj on waivers likewise. They are all call-up/surprise options for the NHL team, but other players in that category are already on waivers, so they should go ahead and put them there with Blunden. If a suspension/dissolution of the waiver process isn't forthcoming automatically with the expiration of the CBA, anyway.

Wyman, Ferriero, Boychuk have a chance to get claimed simply since a claiming team gets them, doesn't have to pay them, then will get a full camp to evaluate. All are decent enough 12-14 type forwards, maybe some team takes a flyer on seeing them in camp.

I still don't understand how you can have a two-way (NHL/AHL) contract and a AHL-only contract at the same time.

The AHL contract probably has an out clause when the new CBA is enacted. Same as if a player signs overseas.

Instead of risking players getting claimed, they'll wait until the lock out when contracts "don't count" then Corrente will sign with Albany
