Ya it was crazy listening to the PBP guy calling the action on a Canada power play...

"Gretzky, to Lemieux, to Coffey... back to Lemieux, to Messier, to Gretzky... Gretzky cross crease to Bourque..."

And so on and so forth lol.

Watched yesterday's game my god you damn near had to kill a man before the ref would call a penalty.

Was thinking how great Lemieux and Gretzky were, but who exactly are the top 2 guns now? Stamkos-Crosby? Really think what Russia has with Kovalchuk-Malkin-Ovechkin is something real special.

The thing that really struck me was the way Grant Fuhr does his netminding. He had some pretty spectacular saves then, but I don't know if that style would hold in today's NHL or not.

Very entertaining indeed.

Near the end of his career he had adapted to be more of a butter fly goalie.

Yeah, but if he juiced up the pads, he wouldn't be able to do those crazy ninja kicks at the speed he was doing them at.

As someone who used to wear those fur filled DRs Fuhr used to rock, I don't think the new light-weight pads would hurt his ninja kicks too much.

Yeah that was my though. Fuhr might have to be worried about kicking the new pads right off.

Just got summoned to jury duty. Second time in my life it's happened. It's mid-week, don't think I'll be able to miss work for it. Hopefully they accept working as a reason to miss it.

I wish they'd tell you what trial you were going to be a part.

I always wondered if you said something incredibly racist or sexist to them right off the bat if they would exclude you from jury duty. Also, how does one get selected? I have never been selected, but have heard of a few people that have been picked a couple of times

Once you pay taxes or register for ID, your name goes into a database.

You get something in the mail with a number telling you to call a hotline on a certain day. Most of the time, the number says it's off and you're off the hook. If it's on, you show up where you're asked to and sit around all day waiting. I've never been past that point.

IIRC, they don't really interview you at that stage. So saying something sexist or racist is not going to help. If you no-show, they will issue a warrant for your arrest.

Work is, to my knowledge, never an acceptable reason to miss jury duty, but workplaces are not allowed to fire employees who are missing work because of jury duty.

They likely need to pull multiple jury's out of a large pile. It could one of two or three cases.

I believe the American justice system allows lawyers on both sides to cross-examine potential jurors.

In Canada a jury candidate would get basic questions such as what's their occupation, if they know the people involved, what they know of the case through the media.

Comrie spent his whole life staying in shape because of his career as an athlete.

Now he is retired, has millions of dollars, a hot wife and a baby. I'd put on some weight too.

This part might have been true before, but now both of them are a little overweight.

You charitable son of a gun Cloned
I never thought she was that hot to begin with ..... but at least she has a legit reason for her current condition.
No excuse whatsoever for Mike to let himself go like that.
He's still a young man ffs.

He could be much worse. In the grand scheme of things, he's probably 10 pounds overweight.

Comrie has looked out of shape for a long time.. I remember his last bout with the Oilers there was a picture of him looking like a fat slob.

He seems like one of those guys that just can't lose fat and look sloppy always. Because he was pretty damn good I thought his last season with us.

Regarding Hillary and Mike. I guess the positive is they are hitting the gym.

My wife put on about 25 - 30 lbs after her pregnancy, and it took her a good 5 years to get back to her pre pregnancy weight.

Mike though, being an athlete and all, has absolutely no excuse IMO.
