Buffalo fans, the Remparts no longer believe Grigs will be in Buffalo next season. Read the article, the head hanchos at the Remparts states 2 things:

1) The CBA and the lockout
2) They will not let him go without a fight

They did give JGL a 7.5D, moved him up.
I think that's just Grigs being dowgraded for the 8373827th time...

Quebec has zero say. They can't fight it as far as I know. James?? Verify??

I'd think that if there's a lockout, CHL players will be released when the NHL season resumes for training camps.
I believe that's what happened in 94-95 but can't be completely sure since I was barely three years old then.

Québec has no say whatsoever though.
They can hope that they'll have him for the whole season, but he's a contracted member of an NHL organization.

They aren't even saying they're going to fight for him in the article. One of the owners say there's a better chance to see him in Quebec with a possible lock out and he mentions they don't want to let him go after seeing him in pre-season but that's more a joke than an actual fact...

Of course, they can't and won't stop him from making the Sabres.

Although I've read Roy saying in another article he spoke with Regier recently and he was more enclined to send Grigs back to juniors than last June.

Maybe fighting is too strong of a word, but as SergeConstantin stated, Patrick is constantly on the phone with Buffalo, in order to convince them that the best thing for Grig's development would be to remain 1 more year in Qc.

As SergeC stated as well, they are more open to that idea.

To me that's fighting for Grigs to remain in Qc and that proves that Qc has a say in the matter. Of course Buffalo has the last word, but they do listen to what the Junior team is saying as well...... No?

Insiders: Roy had always the intention of having Grigs in Qc for an additional year, don't believe the hipe!

There "should be" a shorten NHL season, hence, best thing for Grigs is to remain in Qc.

If there is a shorten NHL season, I don't think there will be any rookie camps, hence, the CHL players should remain with their respective teams, except for some exceptionals such as Grigs who will take part to at least 9 games.

Don't see it as a downgrade, it's more of a question of refining Grigs for the big leagues. I hear that the coaching staff are spending additional time speaking and coaching the core team (Erne, Duke, Grigs, Kucherov, Fever, Culkin, Carrier and Sorensen) in order for them to be better on all aspects of the game. Roy in an interview stated he wants to see more grit from the players. To me that's paying attention to details.
One more year in the juniors with this coaching staff will be better for Grigs.

I've not been to the practices/games yet and won't be able to do so prior to the first weekend of the season. Hence, this part is second hand info.

IMO, Buffalo has more of a need for a center, than Grigs being truly ready for the big leagues.

Don't believe the hype, Buffalo-Qc are in constant communication, more than Roy is leading us to believe.

I wasn't a big believer of Qc letting go Sorensen, once the whole NHL issue is resolved, but now, IMO, that's what they're preparing to do, in order to have a line of Duke-Grigs-Kucherov.

Only Buffalo can mess up their plan, that's one of the reasons the constant communication!

Oh I forgot to mention, in other articles from Qc city, Roy did mentioned he cultivated a relationship with Buffalo's decision makers and that they will be working very closely for the benefit of Grigs.

He got their respect, they will listen to what he has to say about Grigs. Of course Buffalo has the last word, no one is saying the contrary!

Found out the guy who wrote and graded our new prospects name is Jason Chen and lives in Canada, clearly explains those horrible grades...^^

Must be a HABS fan.

At this point in time, I think most, if not all, of us feel that Navin is a better prospect than Isackson. I agree with it. I don't know why, though. I feel like there was something over the course of this past season that led me to that conclusion, but I'm totally blanking on it.

Can anyone give a comparison report between the two? Thanks.

Armia scores against Lukko (on Petri Vehanen) in the second period to make it 1-0 for Ässät in the first game of the season.

Nice, he started on time this season.
It took him seven games to score his first last year.

Scored two times (almost three) in the first two periods. One heck of a guy.

So how does his military service affect how many games he plays? Will he play the full schedule? Will he miss games?

Because I'd hate to see him start like this, then not play games for a while.

He won't miss any games, he might miss some practices, and that's it. Finnish Defence Forces are ridiculously lenient to pro athletes.

Won't miss games. The whole military service is basically not even mandatory for top athletes such as Armia.

Nice.

Will be good to see keep up this level of play then.
