The Nucks currently have a little over $2 million in cap space. Even if they trade Lou they'll still be pretty damn close to the cap. If they do trade Lou they are betting everything on Schneider who i wouldn't be surprised if he does well, but i also wouldn't be surprised to see him really struggle.
All of the reasons some Hawks fans didn't want to sign him are the same reasons some Vancouver fans dont want to sign him. We'll have to see what his contract looks like but the Nucks are not Cup favorites just because they add Doan.

No, but they don't seem concerned at all with the cap. It's a little odd. They have guys that they could move like Malhotra, Ballard, Raymond and of course Lu, but you have to find teams that want them.

Looks like the extension doesn't start until next season, so he'll make $2 mil this year still.
Thankfully Doan didn't go to Vancouver or Detroit. Next to coming here, staying put is the best option for us.

I see Doan signed for 4 yrs/21MM with the Coyotes. I thought he was for sure going to Vancouver because he is from BC and every player that ever comes from BC wants to play for the Canucks because Vancouver/BC is the awesomest place to live (apparently not).
