I don't think having a player that went undrafted, to ball hockey, to the ECHL, the AHL then the NHL is going to hurt any team. There is only one way you make those strides to become (I think?) the highest scoring NHLer to play in the ECHL.

The stupid antics aren't necessary but he is hardly dirty.
He can score 30 goals, good player, but wouldnt you think his antics are a distraction. Ex. Sean Avery

Like I say, his 'antics' are overblown. A small, high profile sample size from a few Boston / Chicago games where he got frustrated. He's not even the dirtiest player on our team, let alone in Sean Avery country.

Looks like Alberta got wind of this signing.

His 'antics' (all what...two of them) have clearly been a distraction. You can tell the entire Canucks team is fed up with him, and want him off the roster.

Has turned into a perennial 25+ goal guy, elite penalty killer, elite defensive winger, elite "pest", busts his rump every shift, popular with fans and the media, personable, durable, can slot anywhere in the lineup and perform in the role he's given.

He would've cleaned up in free agency. This is a great contract for the Canucks.

I don't think anybody can clearly say that. That's just not true.

He is nowhere close to being Sean Avery.

Like alluded to earlier in this thread, much more like Brad Marchand. A pest, yes. Team hates him, far from it. They love Burr.

So happy that we did this. Burrows dererves it more than anyone.

Awesome deal. Honestly thought he'd get 5 per year this time with recent signings but Burrows shows his loyalty yet again.

Two guys that play chippy and on the edge, but the difference is that Burrows plays a relatively clean, but still chippy game. How many slewfoots, submarines or elbows to the back of the head do you ever see Burrows commit?

I'd like to see that list of players Burrows has injured, as you would think one of the cheapest and dirtiest players in the league might have actually hurt another player at some point.

Good luck finding a single injury that was caused by burrows.

We have approximately $6m coming off our cap next season not including Luongo or Ballard. Shave off two million for an Edler raise and I'd say we are still pretty damn set.

Just today I found the perfect smiley for this.

Funny stuff, there was an article posted TODAY by Sportsnet hockey hearsay writer Chris Nichols how they were far apart. That's just some solid reporting folks.

I remember him hitting a Nashville player...Legwand maybe? with a borderline headshot, but that was before all the crazy new concussion laws came into play.

His reputed persona of ' cheap shot artist or pest' is overblown, to say the least.

I figured he'd get the same deal as Marchand. Good deal for the numbers he puts up.

Key player for the Canucks, and one that scores clutch goals. Glad the Canucks are keeping him - was afraid they'd replace him with Doan if Doan chose Vancouver.
