‘Metallurg Magnitogorsk, who owns Nikolai’s rights in the KHL, has already stated they are interested in him,’ said Grinstein. ‘However, nobody wants another lockout. So the battle will go on until the 15th of September. If the lockout happens, Nikolai will play in Magnitogorsk. I’m not going to lie, though, he has a few other offers from the KHL.’
"Under the current mutual agreement he should be allowed to comeback to the NHL at any time he wishes, but if the KHL changes the rules as they please, he may not be able to leave mid-season."
well if lockout happens I wouldn't be surpried. However he can return along with malkin as well back to NHL when and if the season opens up. Can't believe we are still at a point where nothing is set on stone.

It seems like a late start is pretty much set in stone. There's less than 2 weeks now before the players get locked out, and with the reactions to the last proposal, plus the fact that these people haven't been able to stay in a meeting together longer than what amounts to a couple periods of hockey, that doesn't seem to be enough time to close the gap. I'm sure stranger things have happened though, and maybe if they can buckle down over the next 13 days they can hammer out the specifics and get this show on the road.
As for Kuli, you had to figure he was gonna play somewhere in the event of a lock-out, so as it was mentioned above, it would be pretty interesting to see what he could do when lined up with Malkin again. Hopefully this CBA stuff works itself out though and we get to see him in the blue and white on time.

He is practicing on ice with few Leafs and Marlies. Doesn't seem like he is thinking about KHL.
Right now. Players aren't locked out at the moment.
After September 15th.. it's every man for himself if there is no CBA in place.
I do think that the KHL threat is HUGE with Kulemin. He had a bad year and accepted a deal that will take him to UFA...if he doesn't get a deal he wants from the Leafs, I can see him going to the KHL if he can't adjust on a different team (him and Grabo are pretty close).
I can definitely see a team like the Pens going for him. Great winger for Malkin.
Forward, "Pittsburgh" Evgeni Malkin and defenseman, "Ottawa" Sergei Gonchar yesterday arrived in Magnitogorsk, said the journalist "Soviet Sport" Pavel Lysenko in his Twitter.
It is expected that on Sunday, they will sign a contract with the local "Metallurg" at the time a very likely the NHL lockout.
Earlier genmenedzher "Magnitogorsk" Gennady Velichkin said that in addition to Malkin and Gonchar to an agreement with the forward "Toronto" Nikolai Kulemin.
Glad to hear Nik will have somewhere to play with some talent.

using his big frame to create space and his skating ability to find open lanes to drive the net. He stands 6-3 and is a natural goal scorer with plenty of confidence.
He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.
I remember watching an interview where he said this (I'll paraphrase) After repeatedly allowing goals like this and performing sub-par, he was "visited" by several gentleman in the locker before a big game who said that he should maybe play better and win the next game. If not then he'll receive another visit form them to discuss his contract with Omsk(?). He lost the game and apparently was at the airport early the next morning to fly to the US. He said that these men were very compelling.
