Is there a chance that this won't go through based on the timing?

I don't think so, as long as the team sent in the deal yesterday, it doesn't have to be approved until 5 ET today I believe.

Ah, okay. I misunderstood that this wasn't just being submitted. Thanks.
Good job for the B's. Wish we had locked up Fowler before the lockout.

physical paper work needed to be in last night. If it was sent in to day it is too late.

Dupont is as reliable as anyone in the business and wouldn't report it if it weren't true.

Dupont seems to believe it will be upwards of 5.75.

Wonder how long the term is? His playing style isn't conducive to a long healthy career.

I'm sure it's around 5-5.5... He could get a hell of a lot more on the market, (even though he's an RFA next year,) but he loves it here and he's been a hero in Boston since his first shift. If that's the case, very fair and I'm very excited to have three of our best and youngest forwards locked up for a good amount of time.

6m AAV for 3 years. Still happy with it, although a bit more than I wanted.

30 goals, physical and can beat up most of the NHL players is good.
It's 3 years, so if he does drop it won't affect them much.

6 million seems a lot to me.

He's not a 6m player, but this team has a completely different system and identity without him. It's worth it, I think.
It's only three years if it doesn't work out, too. Although I'm sure he'll kick it into high gear with this.

Sources are telling me it's 3 years 6.0 per.
A little more than I was hoping for, but he is the identity of the Bruins and he sets the tone physically and that has a huge impact on this team.

I think he is getting slightly overplayed. $4.5m-5.5m would have been good IMO..
