Canes' players during the lockout

Sad that this thread has to be made, but it'd be nice to be able to keep up with everyone during the lockout.

Skinner, Faulk and Welsh are among 28 headed to the AHL. Sounds like Semin is going to Lokomotiv. Any other commitments?

Forwards:
Drayson Bowman - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)
Zach Boychuk - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)
Zac Dalpe - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)
Jussi Jokinen - Oulun Kärpät (SM-Liga)
Jamie McBain - Pelicans (FEL)
Andreas Nodl - HC Innsbruck (Austria)
Victor Rask - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)
Alex Semin - Sokol Krasnoyarsk (VHL)
Jeff Skinner - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)
Anthony Stewart - Nottingham Panthers (EIHL)
Brett Sutter - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)
Jiri Tlusty - HC Kladno (Czech Extraliga)
Jeremy Welsh - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)

Defense:
Justin Faulk - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)
Marc-Andre Gragnani - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)
Ryan Murphy - Kitchener Rangers (OHL)
Joni Pitkanen - Oulun Kärpät (SM-Liga)
Bobby Sanguinetti - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)

Goaltenders:
Justin Peters - Charlotte Checkers (AHL)

I think Chip tweeted that Tlusty is probably going to the Czech Republic.

Looks like Victor Rask is heading to Charlotte too. Had that been previously announced or is it getting lost in the mass exodus?

I think it was pretty well known that Rask would be in Charlotte this season. Not officially announced per se, but it was expected.

Murphy's returning to the OHL.

Not sure how I feel about that.

What other option does he have if he wants to keep playing?

Murphy would have been in Charlotte last year had the Checkers not collapsed like a deck of cards in April.

IIRC, there was a new agreement (or at least, talk of the option) that allowed CHL players like Murphy to play with the Checkers/AHL teams because of the lockout.

I'll see if I can find a link

Jussi Jokinen will play for Oulun Kärpät, a Finnish team, for at least one month according to Finnish media.

I'm sure it has been asked elsewhere, but is there any chance FSN picks up some of the Checkers' games this season? I don't really know how television contracts work at that level considering TWC has shown a few Checkers' games the last couple of seasons.

My home team Going to see him on wednesday! Pitkänen will also join the club after his child is born (if there's still a lockout going on). This is the only positive thing in lockout, I get to see some of my favourite Canes-players live

Sounds like Tlusty is the latest to peace out. That's Jagr's team, iirc.

Chip Alexander @ice_chip
Jiri Tlusty said last week he probably would go back to Kladno to play during a lockout. He's gone.

Alexander Semin's agent, Mark Gandler, says Semin has not signed with a KHL team and has no immediate plans to sign with KHL team.

Interesting.

Interesting.
didn't he miss out on some exhibition game this summer due to an injury? Maybe he is still injured or not fully recovered? Just speculating.

EDIT: then again, maybe not.

Gandler said Semin would continue to train and practice with a developmental league team in Krasnoyarsk -- "It's similar to the AHL," he said -- and might play some of the home games.

Had a very warm welcome too I was there, it was great to see him play... Last time I've seen him live was at the NHL Premiere in Helsinki. Oh, and he was good too, some excellent passes especially on the PP. Linemates couldn't finish so he had to do it himself with a nice wrister.
