A lot of potential for proven. Mind you those guys aren't getting younger but I doubt they'd be willing at this stage.

Montreal trades young guys(Subban,Eller) who are valuable to the future of this organization and are young and have at least 15-17 years of hockey in them for 2 veterans be it they are very good but there in there mid 30's and only got probably 5-7 years left of hockey Tops,I mean value is there but not the direction were going in, I atleast hope not, I'd be more then happy keeping Pk and Lars and the 1st...will only benefit the Habs down the road....so Habs respectfully decline.

I'd do it, but i doubt the Wings do it. They just became a lottery team while we became a contender.

U'd do it right now yea but in 6/7 years as Zetterburg and Paval are retired and Pk and Lars are shinning not to mention who ever the first becomes, Habs fans will be pissed they got rid of them just for a good 3 or 4 seasons IMO Atleast

No we don't. We loose our 1# D. We'd still be a bubble team.

And DET best player would be Filpulla...Yikes,

Yeah... definite a no on the Wings side.

Especially with Lidstrom gone, they lean on Pav and Z WAY too much to toss them into some trade like this.

This is more like an NHL 13 type of trade than an actual one.

I'd see the wing's trading Z but not both... I think they could flip him for a solid D

And you gain 2/3 of a top line... not to mention they're two of the best defensive minded forwards in the game. Patches next to those two would look awesome.

If they're trading Z, I would sure as hell hope it's for more than a "solid" D.

Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Gionta
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Cole
Bourque - Plekanec - Moen

Then Prust/Armstrong/White still in the bottom line

Gorges - Markov
Emelin - Boulion
Diaz - ?

Price

That's a dope forward group

what's the point of throwing away our young core for 3 or 4 good seasons 6 or 7 years Detroit fans are laughing as Z and Pav are retired and Pk and Lars are hitting there Prime...so no cuz Montreal will be complete garbage soon as Z and Pav retire

Montréal is not at a stage where they should trade youth for soon-to-be over the hill veterans. As much as I like Dats and Zetterberg, I think it'd be better for the Habs to decline.

On Detroit's side, I don't think it's enough for them to consider moving the face(s) of their franchise.

Not worth it on both sides. Plus, it has a EA 2013 feel to it, for some reason.

because Datsyuk and Zetterberg are not just better but significantly better than the Montreal group of players will ever be

blasphemous around here I know but in the real world not everything is about youth

It is when you finish last in the east and your "scorers" don't produce i would rather build up a young group and be competitive for 10 years were already started with Price, Subban, Pacc, Eller, Galchenyuk, good start Y break it up for a good 3/4 years of Pav and Z.....N E Ways I think both teams will happily keep there assets and move on Detroit has 4 or 5 good years left before there garbage already started by Lidstrom retireing next up Pav, Franson, Z.

I wouldn't do it...but I don't think detroit wants to either.

I prefer building a perrenial contender. Habs will have a big hole on D and while they dramatically improve forward group, this doesnt even fit under cap so we need to lose plekanec or something. Meh.

Hahaha, nice, sir. Like all the haters have been saying for the past 20+ years. the D is going nowhere except the PLAYOFFS. At least you gave us 4-5. We will be laughing 20 more years of playoff appearances, and, given the prospect pool, a Cup or two.

I think you let all those consecuative playoff appearance go to your head, you got to be realistic Detroits best players are older and when there gone its rebuild Time for them....Habs where the best team in the league for 5/6 years at a time in the 60s and 70s and the team gets older you start over.
