DW needs to jump on Allaire like a fat kid on a cake. Allaire has worked with Anaheim prior to the Maple Leafs, hopefully he won't have a problem working with a California team again.

I dunno. Allaire pushes technical perfection over using physical ability. It works great for a goalie like Giguere, but for guys like Niemi, Greiss, or our prospects who make athletic saves from time to time, it's not going to help. After all, if it's so easy for him to mold goalies into Giguere part 2, why did they have so much trouble with the plethora of promising goaltenders that they've tried in toronto (Andrew Raycroft notwithstanding)

I think he'd be a great pickup. He pushes a more technical style over reactive athletic style for sure, but I think that would help round out Greiss and Niemi's game. He cited a lack ice time and influence in Toronto as his reason for leaving, he wasn't getting enough time with the goalies and they were being handled by too many others and he felt he couldn't do his job properly. San Jose also doesn't have a full time goaltending coach anymore (IIRC splitting time between SJ and Worcester), which I think is a huge mistake.
