The NHL and NHLPA set up a specific new waiver regime in case there was a lockout where there would be free transfers of veteran players with two-way deals.

I'm pretty sure this makes Desharnais and Weber eligible to play in Hamilton if there is a lockout.

I'd like seeing a Palushaj-DD-Leblanc first line in Hamilton with Weber as the top powerplay guy.

Neither player is on a 2-way deal.

And I am pretty sure there are still waivers, which means a waiver claim can happen, the agreement was just to move it up a few weeks so it would happen pre-lockout.

So even if either player was on a 2-way, they'd still have to clear waivers to play on the farm, which would never happen in this example.

Yeah, I misread capgeek there, transposing 2010-11 with now. Never mind.

Oiler get to send their ELC guys to Oklahoma, which is the height of unfair for the rest of that league.

That would be so Sweet,if only the Habs could have Collberg and Galchenyuk play in Hamilton due to the lockout.Dreaming in High-Definition,no matter I want to watch every Hamilton game this season regardless of an NHL lockout.

I don't want to see any of our regular NHL players in Hamilton. It won't help their development and worse will take a prospect's spot (even if it is a low level prospect).

Explain how? He'd have to go on waivers from what I understand since he is waiver eligible, and he would get claimed in 0.1 seconds by the CBJ.

It wouldn't be a smart move for Subban,if he somehow was injured and lost his career. The benefit of having PK to help teach the defence prospects would be lost if he couldn't play.

Anyone else think a lockout would hurt Hamilton. They were already going to be in tough being a young team, but if other teams are sending down their already NHL ready prospects, there could be some really stacked teams.

From what I can gather, a lot of the young NHL studs being sent to the A are NOT in the Bulldogs division, so that is good news. Maybe Lake Erie gets Landeskog though.

And Toronto will probably send down future Norris Trophy winner and HHOFer Jake Gardiner too.

Subban might be willing to play in Hamilton. Close to Toronto.

I know that I won't be playing in Hamilton so let's get on with the online televising of the Bulldog season. They may not win a game until the lockout ends and by then their could be some serious thoughts to moving a player or two up to the NHL.

That would be insane! Tinordi-Subban is destined to happen one day anyways, might as well start right now.

I would like to see Hamilton give another shot to Conboy, Fortier and Masse. I thought that the way they got cut was a little unfair. Conboy and Fortier were injured for a large part of the season and Masse actually played really well. It would cost nothing to sign them to a AHL-only contract or a PTO (25 games tryout).

I would also sign a top 6 forward. I think Hamilton lacks scoring. I believe that Geoffrion, Palushaj, Leblanc and Gallagher are the only legit top 6 forwards on the team right now. Blunden, Dumont and Avtsin may have the potential to hit 40 points, but they are still question marks. So I think adding a guy like Denis Hamel on a AHL contract can only help. He would also fill a needed veteran presence. You need veterans to help the kids during the rough times.

Logically, we'll also need a d-man since we only have 7 signed. They should also have one in the ECHL that we can call up in case of injuries. I think that Mitera and Malka could fill these holes once again.

So this the projected lineup :

Gallagher-Leblanc-Palushaj
Geoffrion-Dumont-Avtsin
Blunden-Bournival-Schultz
Holland-Nattinen-Quailer
Ex : Berger, Lefevbre, Hagel

Tinordi-St.Denis
Beaulieu-Nash
Ellis-Pateryn
Stejskal

Desjardins
Delmas/Mayer
------

This would be my ideal lineup :

Gallagher-Leblanc-Palushaj
Geoffrion-Dumont-Hamel
Blunden-Bournival-Schultz
Holland-Nattinen-Quailer
Ex : Avtsin, Conboy, Fortier, Masse Hagel

Tinordi-St.Denis
Beaulieu-Nash
Ellis-Pateryn
Ex : Stejskal, Mitera

Desjardins
Mayer

ECHL : Lefevbre, Berger, Malka, Delmas

I know that this roster seems a little crowded but keep in mind that we probably won't see a 100% healthy roster very often this season.

Also this added depth will push Lefevbre, Berger and maybe one of Quailer or Holland to the ECHL which isn't a bad thing. The ECHL will be probably much better this season and those players would play top minutes against decent competition. Berger and Lefevbre have shown that they weren't AHL caliber players anyway.

Before paying for this AHL package, do you guys think it would be worth a shot to send RDS a "Mass E-Mail" asking them to get the TV Rights for the Bulldogs? (Eventhough I think they're only on the radio in Hamilton)

One thing to keep in mind tho is that in a non-lockout year AHL teams use a lot of players in a season because they cope with injury and NHL call ups. Even if they rotate a lot of the young players (Holland, Quailer) and less useful depth players (Hagel, Lefeb, Berger) shouldn't some of them play in the ECHL?

Safe to say Hagel replaces him right? Conboy doesn't seem to have a lot of NHL potential (not with us anyways, Schultz with similar role probably has more upside)

I think so. We could post something to on their wall on FB and get many fans here to like it. Maybe they'll understand!

I have a question about a potential habs training camp in... let's say November. Would they empty the Bulldogs of all their players for a couple of weeks and have a normal camp? Or is it a half camp and most rookies will stay in Hamilton?
