Sheesh. Particularly for these early games, I'd suggest some sort of accord--you get up by, let's say, 10 goals, then how bout you take easy on the rest of us (relative) newbies for the 3rd period. It will be more fun long-term if all games are competitive anyway.
Yeah, winning by 16 is a bit too much.

If I go up by 5+, I'd put in my backup and mostly play my 3rd and 4th lines.

To be fair, he was gooning it up in the 2nd half of the game and taking runs at my stars. I just shot the puck.

Taking runs at your stars? What is this?

He's just mad that Lebda got injured for 22 games.

It should of been 15-0 if it makes it easier to stomach, I clearly interfered with the goalie on the 16th one

Finally got my first win of the year.

- 4
- 0

Three Stars:

First Star: Andrej Meszaros 1G 1A
Second Star: Brayden Schenn 1G 1A
Third Star: Danny Briere 1G 1A

Pronger and Simmonds left the game injured. I'm fearing the worst. Haven't left the box score yet.

would still like to get a #2 center. Something around Bolland (84) + from my end.

I don't have anything, but what's your definition of a 2C?

Sheesh. I think I only have one player over 84 on my roster.

Yeah, 84 overall is probably the game's average 2nd line center overall.

I feel extremely comfortable playing with Stalberg, Hossa, Sharp, Toews, Kane in the top 6. When I used Bolland, while he's extrememly good at stick checking and good defensivly, I don't have that same smoothness when attacking with him. Do I really need a 80+ 3rd line center? Something around 84-87 is fine with me for 2C. Probably a Couture, Briere, Pavelski, Zajac type.

Haha, yeah that 16th one I guess the refs were just like, is it really gonna matter?

All 15 of the others were all glove high though I was laughing my ass off, I didn't know goalies could be beat so easily by shots, lol.

umm, 2 of them were stick side, and one was a deflection but I was shooting glove on that one. Chicago in real life blew out Columbus last year on Mason.

I'm not an EA referee--but 12 goals glove high on 5 minute periods sounds a little... glitchy to me.

I'm going to guess that you proved... effective...at the hyper-poke check as well?

some of the goals were back and forehand one because I got the break, some I shot it stick side, he was just letting me skate and I shot the puck where it was going in. Sharp came from behind the net to the front and it went in. When goalies let in alot of goals, they're prone to giving up softies afterwards. I even started taking shots from anywhere and it went in. Unless you want me not to take a shot. It's clear I can't exactly one time pucks, make cross ice plays like in NHL 12, so pin point shooting is the best method. And Yes, I'm good at poke checking as well. I was one of the few who could prevent the one timers in NHL 12....You get better by playing VS, playing against the same users all the time, it'll get stale and you need to challenge yourself.

There's only so much they can do--which isn't to say the game's perfect.

I didn't mind the super poke check at first. I thought it made playing defense a bit more realistic in your own zone. But by Day 3, some people had figured out how to abuse it, playing all 5 their guys in an advanced forecheck mode, and using the poke check to make it nearly impossible to do much of anything.

I don't understand how that's fun, but that's why I generally stop playing online pretty quickly. Yes, the game has unrealistic qualities, but, generally speaking, if you play the game realistically, it holds up pretty well.

I'm not singling out Ezra. I didn't see the game, and I haven't played him / her. I've just noticed that the quality of play has become a lot less \realistic over the past two days or so online in the other leagues I'm in.
