Holy cow. For six years I thought he'd want more. Hat's off to the Jets for getting that done!

He probably did want more, thus waiting right to the deadline.

Love this deal for the Peg. I always root for them whenever they don't play the Isles, and I love Evander Kane's game. The guy had a great year last year and he's gonna be even more of a stud in the future.

With Eberle, Pacioretty, Price, Hall and now Kane, it is great to see Canadian clubs sign their young talent to long-term deals, eliminating the chance of watching them sign down south. Of course they could always sign with an American team once they reach their UFA years, but this is still good to see regardless.

Cos its normal for a 20yr old to lead the league in even strength shots...

Shot volume tends to relate with goal scoring more than shot % (unless your name is spelt something like S_amkos)
EDIT:
Like to add that Kane's main line-mates, Burmi and Welly, while good players, aren't exactly players to lift people up to superstardom

I'd argue that Hall is a better player than Kane, although injury risk does play into it, I suppose. Eberle, well, got paid out on a somewhat lucky season.

Either way, Edmonton is going to be an exciting team to watch.

I'm pretty surprised Kane only got 5.25, seeing as what Eberle, Hall, Seguin and Skinner got.

I'll give Chevy credit - he always signs players to good deals, regardless of their comparables. First Pavelec for 3.9 million/year, then Enstrom for 5.75 million/year and now Kane for 5.25 million/year. Hopefully the magic works again next when we have to re-sign Wheeler, Little, Burmistrov and Bogosian.

Good deal. A bit surprised that he "only" got 5.25mil per year for six years after seeing what even less proven players have gotten lately.

Great signing. Fair value. Kane also saying all the right things afterwards. Hopefully this will quiet down all the talk that Kane doesn't want to play in Winnipeg.

Yet another overpayment. Kane has not proven anything.

Between the Marchand, Lucic, Martin and Kane deals, we've seen everything that is wrong with this league.
