exactly my thoughts. Call me crazy, but I loved when I saw "roughing" next to Coleman`s name every single time last year. I want to see players with heart/edge to their game to make the team in the future. We need that, DeBoer loves that. The more net presence and grit the better. That should be Matteau`s bread & butter. If he can keep it under control, perfect.

Yeah I love that **** too. However, there's a fine line between keeping maggots like Dubinsky in line and taking yourself out of the game like the Flyers did.

Severson with 8 pims in two preseason games? Maybe the refs are just trying to be really strict in preseason to try and keep everyone in line.

Or maybe we have our successor to Captain Hook.

Scarlett is a boss.

And for those of you that have twitter, there are a few guys on there who cover games for Black, Scarlett, Boucher and Matteau. Always respond to personal tweets as well.

The Sarnia guy I talk to said this about Boucher:

Me: What are your thoughts on Boucher this year compared to last year?

Him: Skating looked better (stronger and faster) and he's more confident handling the puck. Big bonus. Amazing shot remains.

Him: Consistency is his biggest test

Matteau comes across as a real SOB in box scores. I like it (as long as he's just a pest and not a Cooke-esque cheap shot artist). Other teams are going to hate this guy.

Seriously. What exactly made it a double spear instead of just a single? Sounds vicious.

We've been missing that though. Since who knows how long, no one on our team has been edgy and teetered on "crossing the line" kind of behavior. Matteau should be a rough SOB even if he is just a third liner.

I don't know what the QMJHL rule is, but this is the NHL rule:

Quote:
62.2 Double-minor Penalty - A double-minor penalty will be imposed on a player who spears an opponent and does not make contact.
Link

There is no such thing as just 2 minutes for spearing (in the NHL).

He can agitate all he wants, but if he's not putting up points in the juniors, he's not going to amount to much.

Lucic's first year in the WHL...19 pts in 62 games. He then put up 68 in 70.

I'm not worried about him, the points will come.

Pretty cool to see Black and Scarlett both at a P/G pace, even if it's just preseason.
